Stunning views
The course was very wet after a night of rain and therefore the ball did not run and the greens were slow. However, the views surrounding the course were stunning and highlighted how high up we were. The layout was good and some interesting, challenging holes. We played on a Monday and the clubhouse was closed for drinks and food.
Would like to play it again on a sunny summers day.
Super..
A super little track especially in the conditions..wind like I’ve never played in before so not easy for an amateur but my two sons played the conditions very well.
My tee time was between 2 sets of members who wanted to play together we respected there wishes..let them play but another member did “..growl..” at my son for not placing his matt on the fairway..shaking his head in disgust..upsetting really...a simple mistake..except it...be polite & grow the game.
In the 19th which we support at all course those members we let play together came & thanked us..that’s what we expect from members..face of the golf club.
Nice Course Worth Playing
Second time playing Branshaw GC, first time was a few years ago on a very windy day. Today there was hardly any wind and what a difference how the course played. A few blind holes so easier without a howling gale. Course in great condition including the greens, but these were a little slow. No one stand out hole but each one have great views of surrounding countryside. Would play it again for sure.
Excellent course
I have played Branshaw on a few occasions in the past and always found it to be in good condition. This round was no different. The course was in great condition with the fairways cut and greens running well. There was a swirling wind with drizzle occasionally on he first 13 holes. Unfortunately the heavens then opened and we got wet through. However, overall I have no complaints at all about Branshaw Golf Club and course and I certainly recommend it to others. We will be going again before the end of summer.
Branshaw
I have played Branshaw at least 15/16 times and this was the best i have seen it, even with the recent rainy weather the course was in great condition, the greens were perfect not too fast and plenty of bounce and run on the fairways, credit to the green
keeper and team.
Wet!
Above average rainfall has left several boggy areas despite last years drainage works. Ongoing upgrade work to 6 has improved the hole.
Course playable despite recent weather.
Great course
Great course, well looked after and considering it is on the mores it’s mainly flat. Worth the drive!
Great value course
Branshaw is a hidden gem. The course was in very good condition despite several days of non stop rain.
The views are incredible but the course is not a tough walk and I love the fact there are two hitting nets near the first tee. It didn’t stop me hitting my first one in the trees though…
The value for the price you pay is excellent- highly recommended
Great venue
Played it twice now fairways not wet greens are in great shape staff and members are really friendly great food
Saturday 12th November 2022
Staff really helpful and friendly , the course was in excellent condition and a good challenge. Hole 6 was out of play due to a re- design which looks great and looking forward to playing it . A pleasant surprise to find the food shack open on the 10th tee .Great food and drinks and reasonably priced . The soup was excellent and definitely recommended.
This course is a must to play and really good value for money
Course update
Hole 6, par 3 closed for extension and remodelling.
A Hidden Gem!
First time playing this course with my son and straight from the 1st tee was the wow factor! The views on some holes was just amazing. The course itself was very tight and hitting the fairway was a must, otherwise thick heather awaits any stray golf ball.
The greens were the best and fastest I've played on this year, amazing quality!
Gutted that halfway house had just closed before we reached it, and if I have to have one really minor negative comment, it would be the the tee boxes and fairways are all close to each other meaning you was in the aim of many shots!
Overall, this was amazing course and certainly one I will be recommending to friends and playing again myself..
value
stunning greens for time of year, pace of play great, 3 hours 20 mins for a 4 ball, very friendly shop staff and bar staff. could not fault and all of our party agreed that the best value for money course we have played in a long, long time. well done, keep up the good work
Well laid our moorland course with ponds full of fish
Enjoyed playing Brannshaw, the course was quiet on the day we played and the weather was fine got round with no hold ups greens and fairways were in good condition also, sadly the clubhouse wasn't open for refreshments after but, will play here again(in fact have booked a 4ball for Thursday 6th )
A holiday bonus
We were up in Yorkshire for our wedding anniversary, and I managed to convince my wife that playing before we checked into our holiday accommodation was a good idea,
She's never been around a course before and somewhat enjoyed it.
This is a links-type course, open, heather and scrubland up in the Yorkshire hills.
I paired up with a local regular who gave me some invaluable tips.
If you are in the area, try it out.
Great Moorland Golf
We're up in Yorkshire on holiday, check in at the cottage is 3pm. The obvious thing is to fit in a round of golf beforehand.
Chose here as it is 5 minutes from our accommodation.
Arrived in plenty of time and the pro fitted us in 30 minutes early. Waited for a single to tee off and he invited me to join him.
A very enjoyable round, managed a par, and a lot that weren't...
Your experience was better than mine. Found the attitude of some people rude and ignorant. Despite having time to progress, was asked to wait until a fourball on the previous hole went through. This really annoyed me and I walked off never to go back. Typical Yorkshire welcome
