About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
Leon Roberts upgraded this 9-hole facility in the 1960s, adding an additional nine to the former cattle lands on the outskirts of Houston. Roberts' design is short but difficult, loaded with pecan trees and known for its signature small greens and tough finishing holes that route around Rabbs Bayou.
Get your birdies on the more generous and open front side, because you'll need some room for error on the final stretch home. No. 16 involved the bayou looming left, and requires an accurate tee shot to a narrow landing area. No. 17 bends hard right and requires a 220-yard carry of the bayou. And No. 18 offers a similar challenge-a 394-yard par 4 highlighted by another long carry of the bayou.
Getting there : From US 59 west, take Exit 762 and turn right. Drive 1.5 miles to the course. The entrance is on the right.

Nice greens
Back nine a little confusing to get around. Holes not marked very well and cart paths everwhere.
A nice course, some holes being worked on
Pace of play even for a Saturday was very slow. The course layout was a bit confusing and could be marked a little better. Overall, enjoyed the play and the wide, tree-lined fairways.
decent tract
not the fanciest of facilities but greens were a-1, not crowded on a Sunday afternoon
Great value
If you get the right price from Golfnow.com I would not pay full price here. The tee boxes are fine, but the fairways are really rough and need a lot of attention. The greens are new but they need to roll them...they are very very very slow. I would not pay full price for this course, but if I only pay $15 every time...I'm game!
The course is a bit tight, but fair.
The staff and amenities are top notch. Plenty of water and trees for everyone
keep it private.
Pre spring condition. weedie and unkeep look. Hole's were all mark or easy to locate. For nthe price they should keep it private.
Greens have improved
Played FBCC late February 2013. Greens were in very good shape for February - some of the better ones in the Houston area this winter. Fairways were decent, slightly above average for the season. The course is in the process of re-routing some holes on the front 9 and could improve the signage for visitors. Overall, this course is fairly priced, and I appreciate them permitting some visitor play (which i presume helps pay for the ongoing course upgrade).
