Great day out
As usual a good day's golf greens a little slow which was understandable given the heat wave they were left a couple of mil long , as is the want of all clubs the fees have increased a reasonable amount ,,which may not be a wise move long term..
Golfing Friday in June
Played again for 4th time this excellent course on 17 June. Staff very friendly and course in brilliant condition although there are on-going works on the course which when completed will make it even better. Many thanks and will return soon!
Sunny afternoon round
Played course for 3rd time. Much work redeveloping course for the better. Great condition sunny warm but windy as expected in Buxton. Super test of all golfing abilities.
What a great course
Played here as my playing partner Neil had always wanted to play it. We weren’t disappointed with Neil describing it as the best inland course he’s ever played. A bit windy at times but it all added to the challenge. Every hole is different and the mix of parkland and links style holes make for a real fun game of golf. We will definitely be back
Great course
First time playing at Buxton & High Peak. Two holes inaccessible as being worked on - but this was not the fault of the course - it was not explained when booking through app.
Enjoyable walk around some fantastic scenery and looking forward to playing again in the future.
Great condition
Course in great condition for jan, all holes open and no temp greens. 4 ball infront who were members let us play through. Would recommend.
Winter golf in the Peaks
Great value, good challenging layout, a bit boggy in a few spots but to be expected this time of year and probably holding up better than most right now. 2 members invited me to join them which helped a lot as it's not that easy to navigate first time round that course.
2 winter greens in use.
Great routing, brilliant greens
Greens in cracking condition for the time of year. Friendly pro and members. Good verity if holes. Superb par 3s
Good challenge
Considering the recent weather conditions the course was in excellent condition. A couple of the bunkers could stand more sand and the grass on a few tees was a bit long but nit picking really. Would benefit from an area to get warmed up (nets). Food and drink very good with friendly staff in pro shop and bar
Enjoyable course with some quirky holes
Difficult to judge course as greens had recently been sanded.and it affected scoring badly. Nevertheless an enjoyable experience and will return in summer. Some very quirky holes especially blind par 3s and holes near the quarry.
Not a fan
We arrived to what we thought looked like a nice course practice facilities poor ,practice net not very good round the back of the club and same for the putting area. The chap in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful ,he did inform me the greens are being dug up from Monday the 13th September so do not play this course !We teed of on time with no feel of being rushed ,the 2 ball in-front got in a bit of trouble at the first so we had a bit of a wait ,which was fine as like us they were playing the course for the first time .then we got to the 2nd hole a short par 4 my son played his 2nd shot then got the inevitable golf ball over his head (twice) with no shout at all (obvious MEMBERS).So not a good start really ,after that we played the course with no hold ups ,the greens are not very good ,probably why they’re digging them up!The course in general has a nice layout not very hilly and has some really good looking holes but I will not be going back ,davenport golf course blows this out of the water also a mention to Darwen excellent course and clubhouse!!
A beautiful course, I could not recommend it enough. I loved the course, even though it drizzled throughout the game. Personally, I used every club in my bag. Not many courses require that. The club members were welcoming, as were the staff. The club house is absolutely charming. .
