Interesting course

I had read some bad reviews, but as I got good deal via golf now (£12 for 18) thought it was worth a punt and glad I did. The course has some well designed holes, a number of par 5's and some interesting dogleg holes. I get the point others have raised about the greens being a little bumpy but only on 2/3 holes. Overall a very enjoyable round and I will definitely be going back.

Great value, good course, will be back!

The course was the only place i could get a tee last minute as all the others in the area where flooded or booked up. Got a tee for £26.99, total bargain.
Really helpfull staff in the shop and good amount of stock. The bar area seemed to have everything you could need but we just grabbed a coffee.
The weather was really awful but the course still played well. It would of be good to know that some of the greens were winter greens before we set out but it didnt suprise us at all.
All in all a good course in suprising condition considering the weather recently and the cheap green fees.
Looking forward to going back in better weather!

Caldecott

Played here as my course was closed due to being waterlogged.
The fairways were in good condition considering the amount of rain we'd had.
The greens aren't the best, but generally the course is a good challenge with good variety of hole lengths and nice surroundings.
Good value for money

Enjoyable game

Greens very good. Fairways nice and wide on most holes.. There are a lot of gorse bushes there so if you’re unlucky enough to go in one you’ll probably be playing another ball. Some long walks between holes. Overall very enjoyable

Sweltering Weather

Cheap 18 holes on Golf Now

Staff fantastic as needed to go a 3 ball instead of 4 and very accommodating.

Course however in poor shape especially greens. Fairways quite nice but work needed. Few bunkers like sand pits and unkempt.

Facilities however lovely - bar superb.

Great for a novice golfer to practice on.

Very slow

My only view was the play was very slow by groups in front but it didn't hamper me that much and is to be expected

Unkept weeds

Pricey for the condition of the course
Fairways not maintained. Mainly weeds and moss.
Greens a little better but lots of weeds and moss making up the green.
Only real difference around the course is the length of grass. The quality from rough to green wasn't much different.
Teeboxes are terrible.
Bunkers are more grit than sand, walls not maintained.
Water hazards partly finished.
Layout was good, quiet and pace of play was good.

Tidy course, good value

On arrival at 5pm, it was all shut up but the locals helped me and it was easy enough to work my way round.
Nice course, very reachable Par 4s and 5s. Some good corners to cut across to make it shorter, need a members knowledge here. Nice fairways, some forgiving some not so much. Well placed hazards makes you think. Greens were nice and consistent if a little slow for mid summer.
Made my first eagle ever, fond memories for life.
Will return!

Cold weather
Walked

Great layout, bad greens.

I actually really enjoy this course, it feels like good fun, but honestly the greens are really poor. If it was £10 a round then fine, but even on a hot deal it's £25 and that seems too much. You can play Wensum for £10 on a hot deal and that's immaculate. Needs some care and to be priced better, and i'd be coming here more often.

Very enjoyable visit

I was a member here many years ago so was interested to see how it has evolved. The course layout Is very good and interesting. The greens appear to be suffering a bit but it’s noticeable that they are being treated.
All staff encountered were very friendly in the pro shop and in the bar.

Still needs some work.

After the difficulties, it has definitely improved but still needs some work. Lots of tee boxes are patchy and very unlevel. Greens are very slow due to needing a cut. It's a shame as the course is very well laid out. Still has potential, just needs an injection of money.
