Ok course but never worth £16.50. When you can get more established course for an extra £5/6

Great course

Great value for money, the course was well maintained, the 15th green was a little bit wet under foot but that was the only negative, would highly recommend playing this course.

Municipal golf course

Typical municipal golf course, not very well signposted between holes. Tee positions marked with flat round discs on ground that were covered with grass so not easy to find. No rakes in bunkers.
Phoned beforehand to check price and tee-time to compare prices with golf now, they said it was same price. When we arrived 30 mins later staff told us fee was more than they said on phone and only accepted card payments, so went outside and booked with golf now at a very reduced price. Not planning to return.

Poor greens

Played this course several times over the last 5 years. Greens are in the worst condition I've ever seen, borderline unplayable. Tee box positions look like they haven't been alternated in years, very poor condition.

Price has significantly increased from the last few years and certainly isn't being reflected of the course.

Beautiful course setting really being let down by poor/no maintenance and for just a few pounds more you can play a well groomed par 72 member club 5 minutes away.

Great price but greens poor

As the title states overall it’s a decent course but the greens are in a poor condition, they really need some care and time put into them to really boost the overall quality of what is actually a good course!

Over priced

Played this course many times…has potential of being a nice course as it was in previous yrs…. Poorly managed nowdays bunkers without sand…T areas not clearly marked…busy with folks walking the course…how nobody has not yet been killed/maimed i will never know… unless u are only looking 2hack i’d not bother!

All changes after 5pm

I booked an afternoon golf slot and went and played. Checked in fine and the staff were very polite. It was all fine until hole 9. I hit my drive and walked to my ball, it was about 5.15pm, which is about when the golf office closes. As I am walking to my ball I see an older couple walk out from a hole in the fence with a golf bag. They put it down in the middle of the fairway and start playing. They clearly haven’t paid. I then have to wait to play my shot. I finish the hole and had to jump ahead of them to the next hole missing out a hole, but there are 2 lads who have just appeared and started playing. So I move to the 13th and skip another hole. I carry on playing and get to the 15th. Hit my drive down the fairway and walk off to my ball. It was not there. It could have been picked up by the kids in the bushes, but they said they hadn’t seen my ball or the numerous dog walkers or people who have just turned up and started playing. As I get round the course I see more and more random people either just start playing or sitting and chatting on the green, where you had to wait for them to move. I did not enjoy the round. This was also not made aware to me that after 5pm it would be a free for all.

Fantastic Value For Money

Don’t know where in the country you could get a course as good as that for £14 on a Sunday afternoon.
Greens slightly long but for a park course absolutely brilliant.
100% recommend.

First time golfer

Never played a full game of golf before only pich and putt, dove in at the deep end and did 18 holes…

Enjoyed it very much, course was well looked after, price was really good, only improvements would be a better putting practice green, needed cleaning off, and the net for practicing drives needed cleaning up a bit .. but again for the price can’t really complain.

Will definitely be back.

Cannock park golf.

Ok to play a cheap round if you can’t go any where else. But in winter not good really.

Unkept, overpriced, overbooked

How a municipal can charge nearly £20 a head is bad anyway, but given the state of the greens & fairways it's shocking.

Fairways not mowed, greens in appalling conditions (pitch marks, lumps, bumps, and even divots on some...).

1 practice net there, a putting/chipping space but no actual pins/holes to aim for. Signs for majority of holes are missing and of those that aren't they're in dire need of repair....

We booked as a 2-ball and arrived 15 minutes early, to see a queue in front of us of a 2 ball, behind a 3 ball, behind a 2 ball and a 2 ball behind us. Yet nothing in front of the first group we could see, so clearly had been overbooked or players allowed to tee-off late.

If it was in a good state, I wouldn't complain for the price, but with the standards on show it shouldn't be anything more than £10 a head, and that's being generous.

Bargain

For the cost of the course. It’s a lovely course that’s kept very well. One note of caution the holes often chris cross so best make sure you’re playing the right hole/aiming for the right green!!!

Great Value

At a quid a hole you can't complain, course has a few challenging holes. Trees are placed in the middle of fairways. No par 5, hole 17 has been shortened and has become a Par 4 that you can get on off the tee box.
