Won’t be going back

Hard to call this a golf club. The club shop is very basic, no options to buy balls, gloves etc..

The course itself was in pretty good condition given the rain. However the bunkers were all mostly weeds and/or gravel. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to use their clubs to hit out of them!

Found rubbish everywhere as well

Generally the course it just a bit unloved. Certainly not worth the £32 I paid for a round

This course is beaten up

I used to live right by this course, and it’s been ‘getting refurbished’ for about 2 years, and still no sight of any refurbishment whatsoever. This isn’t the worst bit though; because very few of their members play there anymore (because of the impending refurb), the whole course has a half-arsed attitude. The course isn’t well kept, the pro shop is an empty room with a fridge, and it doesn’t have any evidence that it’s being looked after it any quantifiable way. Really poor. Won’t go back until it’s been actually refurbed, probably in about 10 years by the time it’s done.

Use it before we lose it!

Course was in good condition considering all of the recent rainfall - interesting layout with some good holes especially on the back nine. Sadly the local authority has deliberately allowed the wider Centurion Park facility to deteriorate in order to justify building houses on one of the last green spaces in the area (early works have already started to the detriment of the 16th & 17th holes). The course as it currently exists is due to close in late 2023 which is a real shame. Allegedly the course is due to re-open circa 2025/26 but a lot of people doubt that will happen. I sincerely hope that the local authority looks after the welfare of the staff that have worked so hard to keep the course going over the years. RIP Centurion Park.

Value for money

Fairly basic set up, but for £12 it's value for money.
Driving range is good for a warm up but there us no club shop or bar.
Course is OK. Not the same quality as other clubs in the area but you get what you pay for. Not too busy so you don't feel pressured by other groups.
Great course for beginner golfers, but more experienced players may feel short changed.

Dave.

Redesign in October shutting end of October for 18 months to two years reason bunkers have no sand in most players carry full cans and packets if no bins try carrying them when empty until you come too one. It's not hard too do.

Good course but extremely over priced.

I haven’t played my local course for 4 years as quite frankly it was a disgrace the last time I played. With not a lot of time to get a round in I thought I’d give it another go. The course is actually in really good nick. Fairways are good, the rough is a bit thick but then again you shouldn’t be in there and the greens were running really well. Much like all the other reviews are saying, the bunkers are unplayable and I’ve found more sand in my shoe after a trip to the beach but the rest of the course more than makes up for it. The club was like a ghost town when I turned up for my 9.30 tee time so I couldn’t get a scorecard. Other small issues are the amount of rubbish around, lack of bins and lack of signs if you were a first timer playing there. The main downside was the price, £26 to play was a bit extreme. This course should be £15/20 at best. It’s such a shame as I like the course layout, there are some interesting holes and the club seems to have ironed out most of the issues regarding fairways and greens but at £20 odd to play there are many better options out there.

Much better than expected

After reading mixed reviews about this course I wasn’t too sure what to expect, however I was pleasantly surprised. The course itself was in great shape and the greens were very good. It was a great course and definitely one I’d recommend. It was a bit different as there are 6 par 3s, and the bunkers weren’t great but that didn’t bother us. The facilities and bar environment didn’t look the best so we didn’t take a look in there. If you’re looking to get straight on the course this is definitely one I’d recommend.
