Very Poor
No Sand in bunkers been like this for years.
Poor signage for new players.
Bins have been burnt down.
Grass needs cut in many areas.
No clubhouse or shop.
Course isnt well looked after, needs a lot of work, wouldnt recommend this to anyone for the price of 22 quid absolute rip off, should be 10quid maximum.
Much better
Only visited once in 2022, such was my growing disappointment in way the course was deteriorating. Visited today and the course was in much better nick. Everything trimmed back and the greens much better than some higher end local clubs. Club has obviously had issues with investments, but someone with a quid to spare could make this club into one of the best in the local area and sort the driving range out.
Much improved
After not playing the course in a while it was impressive to see it in much better condition than the last time. Tee boxes cut short, fairways in much better shape and the areas around the woodland a lot shorter and accessible for wayward shots. Clearly a lot of work has gone into improving the course and it’s notable throughout. Greens also in top condition, the only downside I had was that the bunkers were still short of quality sand and any rain meant they were GIR. The club shop/bar has also been unboarded which gives for a much more welcoming feel, hopefully Gilmore’s will be back open soon so you can grab a drink after a round. Great to see because the course and layout has so much potential
Good course , otherwise a ghost town
The course at wallsend is enjoyable and at £12 Was a great deal, however the club house is boarded up and looks derelict the course signage is all either rotten or has been graffitied on it.
We were told by the the “staff” that the toilets were out of order and when my friend asked well what do you do if you need the toilet he was muttered at again they’re out of order as she continued to watch a film on a laptop.
I don’t know what’s happening at this club but it’s a real shame as the course is decent but it’s not being properly maintained etc
Course under change
I think this is a good course under change but still good tidy course especially this time of year . Good value for the price to play. Only problem hole sign posts missing. I will play again pity cafe not open .
First after the winter
Still winter conditions, Trees still bare and softish under foot,
Sand Box
All tee boxes overgrown, no sand in any of the bunkers, greens were covered in sand; would be better playing volleyball on them. Fairways not cut and track marks all over them by green keeper staff. Would not recommend
Worst course
Don't water your money, even £20 is over priced. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in poor condition and not maintained.
Overpriced
The course is just about playable but the bunkers are atrocious, if they are. It full of water they are full of weeds and stones, very little sand, the fairways are far too long, no chance of bump and run, the greens were in not bad at the beginning but then the back nine had all been hollow toned and sanded, we played on a hot deal for £12 pp and to be honest it was struggling to be value for money, there is a wooden walkway between one of the greens and the next fairway that feels like you are about to go through it and a bridge on the same desperate need for attention
Something needs to happen.
The massive sales office in the car park for the housing development being built might give some indication as to what's going to happen to this course.
In the mean time it's in limbo. Which is a real shame. Would love to have a pint in the bar after playing but it's not open. No pro shop or anything.
Good value on GolfNow but for how long?
Decent course
Not a bad course fairways were really good and greens were ok although a little spongy. Tee boxes and surrounding areas could do with some care and the bunkers are terrible and don’t have sand in many of them. Overall a decent course especially for the £12 we paid, would play again!
Should have been closed
The Course was soaking wet, the fairways were like walking through a bog the course should not have been open.
