Great 9 Hole Course in Chelmsford
Sadly the weather was raining heavy for most of the round. This really well thought out 9 hole course offered enough of a challenge to my son who is returning to golf without being penalising. The greens played really well for such a lot of water. On the plus side we raced round, no hold-ups and apart from the walk from the 2nd green to the third tee, there wasn’t a lot of walking between holes. The par 4 third at over 400yds gives an opportunity for the big hitters to shine. I can see this course getting busy in the summer.
Weather awful but an enjoyable round none the less
Last minute 9-holes on my own as I wasn't able to get to my own club. While on the excellent Toptracer range before hand, the heavens opened and it continued to hose down for the first 4/5 holes, and then again when I got to 8. Faced with getting wet or returning home and having to go shopping (!) I ventured out onto a pretty sodden course.
So, with that caveat, it's hard to give a really accurate review but considering the conditions, I enjoyed the round. Its a fairly straight forward course, not overly tricky (18 handicapper and shot 40 even with the conditions) short; with no par-5s but an enjoyable couple of hours worth of practice. Greens were in good condition, usual issue with pitch repairs not being made but thats not the course's fault. All in all, I'd say £9 well spent.
Decent course
Played here twice now and its a great course. I’ve only been playing for around a year and it’s nice and open.
Great value for for money!
Expensive for 9 holes. Greens were sandy. Bunkers A little uncared for.
Hidden gem
Second time playing great course in fantastic condition £36 for 4ball unbelievable value for money. Was greeted by the course Marshall on the first very friendly and very polite will be back thank you
Great for my first ever round
I am new to golf and have had a few lessons so felt a bit lost of where to go and what to do. The staff were very friendly and approachable, they point me in the right direct. The course is a lovely 9 hole which I found challenging enough as a beginner but not too intimidating to put me off.
I would highly recommend this place for all.
Bad etiquette
Great little corse but the etiquette of some players is bad but it’s what to expect on a pay as you play course but overall it’s ok
Nice course but greens were GUR
Really enjoyed the course, great layout. I was playing alone and 3 groups were all kind enough to let me play through as soon as they saw me on the tee. Only problem was the greens were under repair so covered in holes and sand making them very inconsistent from hole to hole!
Best value golf around
Played a twilight 9 holes great staff and nice course will definitely be back.
Best little 9 hole
Really good 9 hole that's kept in good nick, driving range to warm up and decent little bar afterwards.
Looks like they are making a few changes to the course as we'll, some holes could do with some more sand or even water but all in all a great little course.
A lovely 9 hole course.
Great for a quick 9. Shame vandals have attacked the greens on motorbikes but they are recovering.
Little Channels - Recommend
The course is billed as an intro for high handicappers and beginners. It is totally that but also punches well above its weight in terms of condition and value. Excellent 9 hole for any handicap; thoroughly recommend…
Great 9 hole for beginners or practice golfers
All the greens are in good condition. Staff very friendly and fairways with good irrigation. The course allows you to not lose too many balls and the pace is always a good tempo.
Would recommend to beginners or to golfers wanting to have a quick 9 holes and practice some tricky shots.
Very expensive for 9 holes
Played here many times, not the most challenging course but always well maintained. £15 for 9 holes is very expensive for a small course.
