Good to get a round in.

Under the circumstances, the course was reasonably good considering the weather.
The staff were very helpful and although 4 holes were closed due to waterlogged areas they accommodated by continuation on 4 holes already played.
I can see the potential to play here in spring/summer decent layout of course with wide fairways for intermediate level.

Short course

Only 9 holes playable. Quite a few temp greens. Very friendly clubhouse. Will try to play when full course available. Looks like a challenging course.

Winter course

This isn’t a reflection on the course normally!!
I’ve played here many times and was thinking of joining next year as the course is great value for money, some challenging holes and can be forgiving to a wayward shot.

However, yesterday was terrible, 8 of the holes closed and several temporary holes in play. 14 holes for £15 in those conditions is poor. The normal fees are £15-£22 normally so the four of us feel we definitely overplayed.

The guy in the shop was helpful and said we could play a few extra holes or ring tee off times for a refund but we’d all driven over so we played. He’d also said they had asked tee off times to put something up explaining the situation but from what it did say I assumed it would be winter tees and maybe a couple of temp greens. Had it explained the situation we would have booked elsewhere.

All said, it’s normally a decent course that would be great if it was bought from the council and we will be back again next spring

Good all round course

I’ve played here on numerous occasions and it is always a good challenge
I little boggy in areas but this is to be expected this time of year. The greens are in great condition.

A boring course in poor condition

Played this course while down South working. I found the course would suit a beginner. Generously wide fairways. Tees and greens were in a poor condition. The holes were very similar making it boring to play. Pin positions were bizarre to say the least. 2 paces from the edge of the green on every hole. Never come across this in the thousands of rounds I have played. Won't play this course again and wouldn't recommend it unless you are learning to play and want straight flat holes with no challenges.
