A fabulous challenge
Met with a warm welcome and introduction to the facilities including a few course tips . Course it's self in good condition with plenty of rough but very short no problem with finding your ball, greens decent with the odd patch a great challenge particularly in today's wind really enjoyed my round an absolute bargain for £15 teeing off at 1pm you won't be disappointed
Stunning views and great value course.
The views are stunning and the setting is fantastic. Slopes and height differences and smallish and slow greens present a decent challenge rather than lots of hazards (unless you count sheep as hazards) or unplayable rough. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that location of some tees not well marked from the previous green. Fairways are narrow but the rough is pretty easy to play from (and spot your ball in). Would definitely recommend and will play again. Afternoon (after 1pm) mid week tee off was very good price too.
Course review
Course in great condition, later tee off and a good price too.
Only problem was a two ball ahead that was very very slow, finally played through them.
Course in great condition
Mixture of sunshine and showers today but the course was in really good conditions, couple of small patches on some greens, but faiways and green aprons cut really well. Welcome in the pro shop and bar was impressive, definitely planning to return soon.
Good value for money
First time playing here and received a very warm welcome when checking in and a few tips about the course
Course was in an ok condition but the greens need some attention but we were made aware of this when checking in
A challenging course with some amazing views of the Cotswolds
Been useful to have signs with directions too the holes
Overall a good round and great value for money
Beautiful course
Great layout with fantastic mixture of holes. Back 9 it really comes into its own with some special holes. 13 is the one. Greens slightly slower than I’m used to but still good.
What a shame
I love playing Cleeve Hill and I have done on many occasions. This is the first time I have played it since the end of the recent lockdown and since the course was saved from closing. We booked a later tee time due to work commitments and arrived to a closed club house and closed pro shop so we’re not able to pick up a scorecard. We honestly felt like trespassers. The greens are in the poorest condition i’ve ever seen them and not cut as close as they should be. To add to the disappointment there is now a herd of cows roaming the course on the back nine. On the 15th and 16th there were deep hoof marks and a large cow pat to contend with making the greens worse than the 10th which is under repair after vandalism. Staff always used to be friendly, especially Dave Finch the residents pro. But seeing as we didn’t see a sole I can only give one star on this occasion as I don’t even know if the staff have been kept on. If the course was struggling when it was good the new management are going have to do a lot better to attract new golfers.
Lovely course, stunning views
Great course, the features are good with a few tricky blind holes. Greens in good condition and on site staff are happy to help. Will be returning
Cotswold Perfection
One of the most scenic courses you will ever play.
Enjoyed the round
Fantastic views, challenging fun holes, very friendly knowledgeable staff - highly recommended and we will definitely play again soon
Highly recommended
We had a great round. Great course, amazing views and some challenging holes
A course everyone must play
With the course futurer under threat, I wanted to support it in case it is the last time I get to play this iconic and unique course. It is a challenge for all level of golfers and still has some of the best views of any course.
