Good game of golf at Congleton golf club
We played 18 holes in nice spring conditions with winter tees and several of the greens now in play. The course was wet in a few places so we had to move our balls 3/4 times to better lies. It was quit when we started, due probably to the corona virus but got busy surpriseingly halfway through our 18 holes on this 9 hole course (we just made it through before a society event started). The course is challenging with lots of serious undulations and tight spots. That said it is still a 9 hole course, so tees and greens the second time rou d don't have much variation. All in all an enjoyable game of golf was had.
Gem of a course
Arrived 15 minutes before tee off time spoke to a couple of members very friendly and welcoming. Tee’d off off on time was not held up on any of the holes, course in great condition and greens were fast fantastic gem of a course will be back there again.
Congleton Golf course
We arrived to be greeted by the pro on the practice area setting up a kids fun day .
We tee’d off on time and the pace of play was excellent 18 holes in 3 hrs 10 minutes
The course was in very good condition and the greens true if a little slow
It may not be long but it’s very easy to rack up a big score by missing fairways and greens
It’s very rare to get a flat lie as the fairways are undulating in places
The greens are not very big so you’re never very far from the flag
It’s a 9 hole course with 12 greens but the 6 holes with a single green have 2 flags on and make it very interesting
The 8 th is the signature hole a 340 par 4 with a green tucked away behind a big tree behind a pond which makes it very tricky
The 9 th is a 3 tier green which gives a 2 club difference from front to back
All in all a great little course with a friendly welcome and it will definitely test your short game well worth a visit
