Excellent
Played here a few times but this time was a real treat. The greens are the best I’ve played on this year and the fairways and bunkers are immaculate. Highly recommend this course
Fourball
On arriving at the course we had paid online through golf now and was told we couldn’t play unless we paid £35 which was the full green fee price.we refused to pay the full amount as we had already paid online for the round so he said he would let us play if we payed another £10pp.I have booked through the system for a few years and have never had to pay extra at the course and we had travelled 30 miles to play so we decided to pay. When I emailed GolfNow said they shouldn’t have taken any money off us as we had already paid and to email the golf club secretary which I did the following day and still waiting for a reply that was a week ago .so unfortunately won’t be returning as the golf course course was ok.would have probably spent more than £10pp in clubhouse but decided to give that a miss and think a club of that stature should treat guests with a bit more respect.
Brilliant course
First time playing this course would definitely play again and recommend to anyone
Thoroughly enjoyable
Had a friendly welcome from the chap in the shop who informed me that 4 holes were currently closed and the layout of the course had changed. He helpfully wrote the correct way to get round the course onto my scorecard. I was also told that I was welcome to play 4 extra holes which was easy to do without having to make any big detours.
The course itself was in good condition for the time of year with all fairways playable although I was asked to use a mat on certain ones or play from the edge, not too much of a problem for me as I am normally on the edge anyway. The greens still had plenty of grass on them and played slow but true.the course was fairly quiet and I was round in under 3 hours.
Exceeded Expectations
I really wasn't expecting much from this course but given the winter conditions I was very pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. The greens although slow were in good condition considering how wet it has been recently. Seriously considering membership here.
Shocking
Five holes shut but yet £26 for a round is criminal
I understand about wet courses but surely the cost should reflect the ability to play a full round defiantly won’t be back and if possible won’t be using this site again if your going to charge full money for a partially open course
Drains well.
It lashed it down for days prior to our round, I pitched up expecting it to be cancelled. On the course I expected water logging and winter greens. No such thing. It was damp, but no waterlogging. Greens were terrific for time of year.
Friendly members. Highly recommend it.
Wet week and day, but course still playable
Great course, excellent drainage in the wet.
Make sure you pickup a scorecard as the tee positions can be very confusing and cross-over each other.
Alot of blind approaches so suited to the better player.
Finished with a Ginmie par on the strange 18th. Go and play it and you will see what I mean.
Hats off the green keepers it has been raining all week heavily and was raining on and off during our round but there no sign of water logging either on the greens or the fairways. Immaculate course and the staff do a great job maintaining. A bit of challenge to some of the pins because you approach them blindly but overall a wonderfu experience, can't wait to play it again in the summer when they is good weather.
