Tough golf course!

Course was in good condition but is very hilly and includes some blind tee and approach shots. It is completely true that if you can play well at Crook you can play anywhere! Facilities are very good now and even include a small par 3 course on the side of the hill. Views out across the course are breath taking and so are the hills! Only negative during our visit was variability of green speed and some muddy fairways on the back nine - maintenance was in progress during our round with some greens running silly fast (to the point where it was not possible to get approach shots and chip shots to stop on the green) and some running much slower at medium speed which resulted in some frustration for our group.

Great course

A challenging course with raised, undulating, fast & true greens, its up and down as well so be prepared for a good walk but it’s worth it, I will definitely return for another round.

Tricky

Cheeky little course. Tight and sloping fairways makes this course quite hard. Decent value for money as only paid £10.99 on Golf Now.

Crook Golf Course

A lovely course in great condition, the staff at the clubhouse were very friendly and helpful. The greens were in excellent condition, some wonderful holes and great views across the surrounding countryside.

Small course as in walking hole to hole however most holes are played along the side of a hill so even if you hit the perfect drive down middle your ball could still end up bouncing downhill. Not a bad course but think I’d prob prefer to play elsewhere however if you like a challenge you found your course and lovely scenery

An enjoyable and challenging course

We played Crook for the first time and found it to be such an interesting, quirky course. Not long by any means but if your short iron game is lacking, get ready for 3 hours of head-scratching! Almost a links-type feel to approach shots with a lot of bump-and-runs needed to counteract the slopes before and on the greens. Everything about this place is excellent. A 20+ handicapper might find it too difficult though. (Score 87, Handicap 15).

Crook visit

We got on the course about 10.15 for a 10.40am tee off but the nice 4 ball members in front of us said we could tee off before, them all very friendly..
Course was in very good condition and couldn’t fault the friendly staff and members, we will be back again soon.

Good. course with quality greens

Friendly welcome in the pro shop and able to tee off when we were ready. Despite recent damp wether the course was dry and the greens in excellent condition running quick and true. Course was quiet when we played so pace of play was excellent. Only disappointment was that the bar was closed when we finished playing. Would definitely look to go back in the summer when drier and greens even quicker

Avoid not worth the money

I've played here a few times and it's usually hit and miss but today was the worst experience I've ever had, arrived for my tee time, pro shop was closed. Went to the first tea only for the greens keeps to be moving the pins, this was at 11:30 am. Made it to the 2nd hole and it was the same so walked off

Good but no shop available

Really enjoyed the course, some really interesting and fun holes but shop not open at 4pm when I arrived and no facilities open for a drink when I finished which was a shame and let the whole experience down a little

Beautiful, enjoyable, very clean, scenic and challenging course

Pleasantly surprised that the course is in absolute great condition. We’ve played Crook several times in the past years but all the improvements are quite remarkable. Greens, aprons, fairways, rough are all in superb conditions. No excuse to lose a ball . The car park is huge with hard standing, very clean. Putting practice, driving nets, practice pitch and putt field are impressive. Wish my home club’s facilities are half as good as Crook’s. Somewhat hilly but you’ll be treated to magnificent views. Play it if you haven’t played it yet. You’ll fondly remember its beauty, you’ll want to play it again to attempt to correct your mistakes on its terrain you’re not familiar to.
