Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club - Woosnam Course

It’s a shame - don’t really think I should have been allowed to play, course was just too wet and waterlogged...

Always good to swing the clubs but in hindsight I wish I had cancelled as it became a grind.

This course is in such a poor state. Such a shame as used to be a joy to play. Tees and fairways are shocking, presumably as a result of the drought. The greens are well looked after which makes it just about playable. Never worth £31 though.

The course has the potential to be really good and a stiff test off the white tees. Unfortunately the tee boxes were really bad and the fairways heavily cracked due the weather. Unfortunate as it is with the weather the course could of been presented better. The greens though were excellent and likely the course will need 6 months recovery from this heat wave.
Straight drives disappeared in cracks in the fairway never to be seen together with the heat made a difficult day!

The worst condition course I’ve ever played. Fairways the turf has come up and formed cracks in between pretty much on every hole! They might aswell shut the course instead of making people pay to play that

This came highly recommended from friends. The layout, bunkers and greens were great. Unfortunately the tees, fairways looked like Mars from Total Recall. On multiple occasions balls either lodged in the cracks in the fairways or kicked 90 degrees from hitting them. It looked like turf had been laid over a soil base then left to die and was split into what can only be described as islands. No signposts indicating where the next tee was. Overall the course looked like it had been left to die.

At £31PP we felt well and truly ripped off. I’d be truly embarrassed to charge half this amount and by how deserted it was, I’d say most have already cottoned on.

Great course, superb greens. If you get lucky, as we did, you can play here when the course is empty. It does get busy and slow at times, but overall this place is value for money.

Greens had just been airated so the greens were slow and hard to read.

Love playing golf here, sometimes it can be slow and if being really critical the greens werent at their best.

Played on Sunday afternoon as a single staff not that helpful about tee time although the course was not busy
I was disappointed at the general condition of the course! The tees were untidy and worn!! The bunkers needed attention and there was a general tiredness about the course!
The greens were not bad a little slow and a little uneven in pace from green to green
In general it is a good course and I would play it again but compared to other courses I have played at full price not good value for money!!
Thank goodness I had a bargain price green fee!!

What a great place, a real good challenge
