What a transformation
This course has been transformed. From what was, a few years ago a course in rapid decline. Has now turned into a well maintained course with excellent greens. The only trouble now is trying to book a tee time lol. Keep up the great work.
Well-maintained amateur-friendly course
Really enjoyed our round. Wide forgiving fairways (often shared with neighbouring hole) and very little rough means wild slashers like me still have a chance to score respectably and don't lose too many balls. Greens excellent for a public course and the unpretentious vibe is well-appreciated by those of us who loathe the 19th hole G&T snobbery element of what started out as (and in its mother country still largely is) a people's game. Good stuff, Delapre; will be back.
Improved Conditions
First time playing this course in around 5 years and it was nice to see how much the conditions had improved. Greens were a lot better conditions, overall conditions are good. Driving range now has ball tracking facilities which is very good
Great course at an amazing price
Well maintained, great layout, really good mixture of holes, some beautiful par 3’s, well worth playing.
Played just after lockdown and never seen the course in better condition .
Kept superbly with the tools they have
John and his team do a great job keeping this course to a really good standard, hats off to them
Poor course
Was not impressed by the course at all, tees were solid, fairways were thick and patchy and course was extremely busy. Will not be back
cheaper midweek fee
have played the course before, and just decided to go in the off chance during the week as the fees were reduced.
course was as previously, but surprisingly the greens were better than i had remembered.
would recommend as rhe food and drink is reasonably priced
Delapre- it’s not bad
It’s not a bad public course and if I can find it for around £15-£17 it’s value for money but wouldn’t pay anymore than that for a lunch - early afternoon tee off. Generally in good conditions and some challenging holes however greens were quiet bumpy.
A very wet course
Delapre is a ‘long’ course with some long par 4/5 holes. It does fell like you’re in the countryside, especially with dog walkers frequently walking in the course. Granted it has been very wet for the last 2 weeks, but. You get puddles of water, even on the greens. Missy greens were sodden with water swishing underfoot, but they still ran true. The tee-offs have been constantly shifted as the area gets very muddy. I would say that the course would most likely be brilliant to play in the summer.
Course was ok bearing in mind the recent wet weather. Some standing water around greens and in bunkers. But we still had a very enjoyable round of golf.
A good municipal
I have a soft spot for delapre.
It's got a nice mix of holes, friendly welcome and considering its a municipal course the fairways and greens are in better than average condition.
But because it's a municipal you also get poor ettiquette. We were followed by 2 Louts in a buggy dressed in tracksuits, firing balls at us for fun. Now normally I'd have let the idiots through but considering every time we finished a hole there were 2 other groups waiting on the tee, there was nowhere to go.
It's also getting pricey as you can play for less at kingsthorpe, chapel Brampton, collingtree and overstone to name just a few in the region
Ok
This course is ok as it’s a non members club, was shocked at the damage to the green on hole 18
FIRST TIME AT DELAPRE
A three ball on Saturday afternoon in pretty wet conditions.
Course was well presented, the second cut being a little long, but fairways are wide and forgiving.
The rain really help the greens which started out bumpy and not cut short.
Decent parkland course, with enough interesting holes to keep you thinking
