SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Greens are always Good!
Course was in good condition! (Usually is)
Cart path only kinda slowed things down but was a beautiful day.
Great Course
Fantastic tree lined design and layout. Fairways in generally good condition with some bare spots, great green designs but showing signs of wear and some small wounds. Friendly staff.
Course is in pretty good condition--fairway and greens. Only negative is that the pace is slow, but all in all, nice course.
2nd Time on Course
In town for business and decided to try this course. The pro shop older guy is so insanely rude. I even tried this place twice thinking maybe he would be more polite, but certainly not the case. I’m a single player and a woman, so normally as with many courses,, we are treated differently. However, in this case there’ was no difference. He is equally rude to all! Personally not the best impression for a course.. I will not be revisiting this course nor will I be recommending it to others.
What a disappointment
Over priced goat track!! Can't believe I paid over $100 for this goat track!!!??? Here on business and the best part of the round was putting my clubs back in the car!!! I played Muni courses for half the price and twice as much enjoyment!!!!!! After the second hole we started playing free drops because the course condition is just screaming for attention!!!! Staff could care less nothing but excuses!!! Well if you know the course is below par adjust the pricing!!!! LOCALS NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE TO MAKE A STATEMENT!!! Hit them where it hurts.... In the cash register!!!!!
Beware!
For the amount of the tee time, not worth it! The tee boxes are in bad shape. The fairways are just the same. The greens are even worse than the tee boxes. There are much more options at lower prices that have way better tee boxes, fairways, and greens. If you would like to put your beverages in an ice chest then you must write down your credit card number on a piece of paper for them to keep. Because of people stealing their ice chests, they want your credit card number written down. If you challenge them that you don’t want to write your credit card number down for them to keep then they will give you a plastic bag. $100 tee time per golfer and you get horrible course conditions. I highly suggest finding a better staffed course, better maintained course, and better priced course. I usually don’t write bad reviews because there isn’t much to complain about, but this course needs a better staff and course maintenance.
Very good course
I have played This course, many times always in good shape. Amenities are very good, Clubhouse and restaurant and driving range Pace of play good.
Great course, bad greens.
In current conditions, I would rate Silverhorn near on par with SA municipal conditions. Amenities and course layout are better. Greens, while in good turf condition, were extremely uneven, rough, and bumpy. Unfortunately, no one is repairing the divots as well. I can’t blame course mgmt for that. I would play here again hoping that greens condition will improve. You could even see footprints in the greens. To be fair, these may be at least partially due to weather. This was my first time playing here, so I can’t compare to general conditions.
Good Course, could drain better
First time playing the course and had a decent round. The course and practice area was extremely wet and definitely needed some help with drainage. Many areas even in the fairways were very wet and some areas were just bare dirt. Granted it's January and not the growing season but marking areas as ground under repair could help a lot. No 90 degree rule was in effect so carts did tear up the fairways a good bit. Greens were dormant and brown but did roll very true. Pin placements were accessible with good shots but not gimmes by any means. Pace of play was quite slow and we didn't see a marshal once during our five and a half hour round.
Overall it was a good course but not sure it was worth $110 in it's current condition
I totally agree!! This course is not worth $100 and they stand by that ridiculous price. I wrote a review almost a year ago (to the day) saying pretty much the same thing. On your next visit to SA..... play the Quarry GC...best bang for your buck in the area.
