Frost greens
A nice course with some great views but disapointed to be playing on frost greens when the sun had been shinning all morning and the green keeper wouldnt come out to check them again
Dudsbury
Course shouldn't have been open, we paid for 18 holes only 9 was open, the fairways where like a mud bath, had trouble getting the trolley around, fairways not been cut the fairways was about 3 to 4 inches, greens was terrible not been cut and quite fluffy, trouble finding your ball as it just plugged all the time.
Clock ticking
The course is due for closure on 1/4 so last chance to play is 31/3. The clubhouse is not doing coffee/food anymore only a few bottles of water & beer.
Staff still very good, chatty and knowledgeable. Shame they’re all out a job in 6 weeks.
Course was excellent front 9 but bank 9 was very wet underfoot and very boggy on some fairways. Greens still good and had been cut recently. Must be hard to maintain knowing you’re on your way out shortly.
Plenty of tee availability as I guess a lot of members have left for pastures new.
Duds bury golf course
Played here a lot over the years. Booked two four balls as heard course is closing end of March. Don't know if this is true or not.Was very wet I know the river runs along bottom of course and not had a lot of rain In last couple of weeksSo river was down. But most of the really wet areas were where water is making its way down from the high ground up by clubhouse down to lower ground. A lovely course when it dries out a bit and challenging. Just have to see what is going to happen with course in spring hopefully stays open after losing two eighteen hole courses at Canford years ago.
Only 9 holes open.
The course should have been shut.
I booked through golf now and paid for 18 holes, only 9 were open
Very disappointed.
Avoid the golf
Played here last year, a day before the closure this year was announced. Course was in dreadful condition, particularly at £60pp (x4). Greens were heavily pitch-marked, tees bare and fairways not cut recently. Sad (is one word for it), played this two years ago and it was a good experience. Also treated my playing partners to a buggy each (further £60) so all-in-all, a very expensive day. Pace of play was also painfully slow, we walked off after 12 hours and best part of four hours. To make matters worse, no gesture of goodwill in terms of a refund, partial or otherwise nor a round of drinks. £300 lighter and scratched from the 'would visit again' list although seems that shortly won't be an option anyway.
Could be better!
I was looking forward to playing this course. It was probably 4 years since I last played it. It is lovely Course in so many ways! Greens were excellent! The fairways were in a very good condition after our recent hot weather . There were many challenging holes with some great features and attractive use of water. There were some hilly holes that meant we appreciated the sight of the 18th!
However, the play was slow. We had a couple head who were playing particularly slowly! The round last well over 4 hours! The signage could be much better between holes. Teeing off after three meant with the slow play the sun was very low in the sky for the 3/4 holes finding the ball was problematic! Hope to play the course again but thought £30 after 3pm was a bit steep.
Many thanks for a good day.
Perfect
Great thinking course , excellent condition , would recommend
Good find
Played twilight, did 9 then ate, then back nine. Bit wet in places but expected due to weather. Staff excellent, food great
Lovely course
Played in March and pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course, particularly the greens. Will definitely be back.
A must for any golfers
Great course with some tricky holes. Really enjoy and will be back soon.
Course waterlogged, could only play 9 holes
Only played 9 holes due to back 9 being closed.
Also I cancelled game 30/11/2022 with golf now at dudsbury and they have still taken the money out of my bank which needs to be refunded
Kind regards
James
Twilight round
Great round, greens good and nicely paced, fairways and tee boxes in good nick.
Not rushed
Reasonably priced for a twilight
Overall would definitely play again
