Shame about the rain
Tough conditions but clearly one of Hertfordshires best courses
Excellent VFM
Fantastic Saturday afternoon game; surprised to see how empty the course was in the afternoon - we had no one behind us and arguably were playing at a slower pace due to group skill level.
Beautiful club house and amenities. Will visit again.
Great layout
Snapped up the opportunity to try out this course and the people were welcoming.
Great course layout, parkland with water on quite a few holes and many really old trees.
Greens were spiked but played very well.
Unfortunately the round was let down slightly by the conditions of the fairways. It had barely rained for a couple of weeks yet they were uneven and quite muddy in places.
Poor drainage, avoid in the winter
Hit loads of great tees shot in the middle of the fairway that I couln t find as it plugged so badly. Would not play again.
Great course and practice facilities
Great course which plays ~6500 yards from the back tees. Greens are in excellent condition and makes a good challenge. The course has a driving range and solid practice facilities for warm up as well. Would definitely recommend.
Classic Parkland, excellent greens & tee boxes
First time here on a cold & grey winters day. Very friendly staff, and excellent practice area for chipping, putting & nets. Tee Boxes we’re in immaculate condition, fairways were very good in general. The greens were really impressive with a very honest roll. It’s a classic parkland course, fairly flat, with a few interesting holes. Low handicappers might find easy, but for everyone who else, you’ll get a lot from the course and surroundings.
Great experience
Course was wonderful and quiet as it was the time of the day but pace was just equally great as it was an atmosphere to enjoy whilst very relaxed all the way
AVOID
Do not waste your time or money playing this course.
There are literally no fairways. Thought that it may have only been 1 or 2 holes under construction, but every hole on the course was in terrible condition. You’ll get a better lie on the beach.
It’s criminal that they can charge £50 per green fee to play here… absolute joke
Decent course
Never known Dyrham Park to accept green fees before let alone appear on Golfnow so took the opportunity whilst it was available. Expensive though at £65.
Guessing they are letting non-members on due to the drainage work undertaken on a number of fairways which has yet to bed in. Perhaps due to the hot summer, some fairways are left with ridges and gaps which are yet to close. To be fair, it did not overly impact on our game and we played preferred lies to compensate.
The course layout is good and there are some really interesting holes, especially on the back nine.
The greens were pretty good if a little bobbly on occasion.
On the whole, we did not feel ripped off at £65 and it is good to have played a new course. We will not be playing again though whilst it remains at that price.
Great greens but poor fairways
A private members course so usually difficult to get on. It has a couple of memorable holes, namely 7 & 11 & the greens were excellent. However, they have recently installed fairway drainage & with the dry summer, there are wide cracracks across most fairways. I am it will be fine if we have a wet winter but right now you need to pick & place. OOverall a decent course.
Good course
After a summer of parched fairways the rain of the last week has made the fairways green and so the course was good to play on. The only drawback was we could only play 17 holes, the 13th being closed for drainage problems. A nicely designed course though and a pleasant day despite two rain interruptions.
Hello
You may have had a bad experience but you really should go back there.
It has been in great condition for a couple of months now; maybe you were just unlicky!
I don't understand your comment about the staff, they are some of the best I have found
