Course In As Good A Condition As I've Ever Known It
The course was in As good a condition as I've ever found it. Light rough cut back to allow a reasonable chance of finding stray shots, greens true and even paced, bunkers all in excellent condition. Not too many people on the course. A really enjoyable day
Could be stunning
Has the potential to be an amazing course. Its in better condition in the summer months. This time round it wasn't and defiantly not worth £36 a round for winter
Aerated greens didn’t help
Love the greenwood. I know greens need to be taken care of. Could judge any greens because of how jumpy they were.
Nice challenge
Good challenging course which requires good positional play. The rough is unforgiving so bring a few extra balls.
The only recommendation is to have clear signage to the next tee. The course was quiet and we had to go hunting.
Greenwood course
Played here a few times and always enjoy it apart from some of the Tees being a bit bare the course was in very good condition payed £24 which I and 3 other players thought was quite reasonable. The last 4 holes which are still the same as when the club first opened are my favourite holes
Very disappointing
Course was in poor condition, standing water in bunkers and the tees were sandboxes. The photo was in the middle of the 9th fairway but not visible from the tee and wasn’t marked out as ground under repair either
Pace of play horrendous, 4.5 hours for a two ball because of a four ball in front who couldn’t play golf and didn’t even consider letting us through, no course Marshall to make sure they did either
Slow Slow Slow
Unfortunately we got caught behind a society of 35 players, although all in buggies still managed to stretch the round out for over 51/2 hours.
Which totally ruined rhythm on the tees due to having to wait there a minimum of 10 minutes every hole.
It was so slow that numerous groups behind us actually walked off in disgust
Perhaps the club should employ course wardens tp chivy along slow groups to allow paying guests a fair chance of having a decent round with waiting between every shot
Shame about the sand in the bunkers- concrete
My first time there with my son.
The course was as expected due to the summer of 2022, but my biggest bugbear was the bunker shots: it was like playing off concrete. Otherwise a nice course.
Pace so poor and no control
Playing a Saturday you expect slower pace of play and being a member elsewhere have experienced that but this was something else 1 hour to play 3 holes. They didn’t seem to have a clue how to Marshall the pace, didn’t seem to be able to figure it out. I’m front of us there were no 4 balls either, so why so slow? No starter when they do need one I think. Course itself was in pretty good condition, Greens were fair. We only saw 10 holes as after 3 hour and 20 mins we had to leave. Won’t be going back anywhere near a weekend if that’s how the Marshall the course.
Poor condition
Some interesting holes but tee boxes, fairways and greens were way below expectations when considering the cost of the round. Some tee boxes had literally no grass to tee up in and the greens were very bobbly.
The 1st hole was in the worst condition but the course gets better as you go round.
The layout is quite good and there are a few memorable holes on the back nine. This could be a decent course if the maintenance was better.
I think something like £20 would’ve been a fair price for this.
Generally Enjoyable
Generally Enjoyable apart from the greens being sanded during my round. Apart from that, everything was fine apart from some of my golf swings
Same old same old
Would have started a lot better had the lady on the golf shop reception refrained from calling me darlin or love every second word, very classless.
Sadly also, the course still did not impress since the last time I was here, a couple of green keepers short of being not bad.
That said, it’s still a fair test, some easy holes counter balanced by some nasty’s.
Layout is good given the landscape etc though the big black mark is the insane pace of play, 4 hr 26m !
Most of which was accompanied with a grass cutter until I had to ask him to go cut grass somewhere else!
All that said, at £27, I have to give credit and all in all, decent value for money, more course maintenance and it would be great value for money, though I’m sure that won’t happen anytime soon.
