Poor Drainage
We arrived at the course and wondered why the course was empty. We eventually realised after only playing 4 holes. The course was unplayable as we kept slipping over on the fairways when addressing the ball. The greens themselves were kept well however, we continued to dis out our golf balls from the fairways as they were plugged in most areas.
I would not recommend this course in wet conditions. We ended our round after 4 holes and called it a day. Which is ashamed as we have enjoyed this course in dry conditions.
Drc
Should be notified green's hollow tired...grass mowings everywhere,
Course in good condition
I have played this course a few times now and you definitely need to keep to the fairways, although they had recently cut much of the rough which is savage. There are many ditches and trees to try and avoid. Course management is crucial. The greens are excellent. Very true.
It is a very popular course and as a consequence play was somewhat slow.
However, other than that I would have no problem in recommending this course and it's pleasant surroundings, and well kept, reasonably challenging holes.
Parkland course
A very wide forgiving course , well manicured although bunkers could be topped up, if you go wildly off the fairway, the rough is brutal ! Keep it where the mower goes !!
Need to keep on the fairways
This is an excellent well-kept course. The staff are very welcoming and the facilities clean and bright. The driving range is sufficient for my needs to warm up before the round and practice greens excellent condition well representing the course greens speed.
The course is very popular with many groups spread throughout the holes. You need to keep your shots on the fairways as the rough is particularly savage. This sometimes slows play down due to wayward shots. The bunkers as well placed, but could do with more sand in most of the ones I found myself in. (Three).
All in all, a very pleasant course to visit and play on. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Tight fairways, fast greens.
This course is an excellent place to test your course management. Unless you can hit a driver perfectly there are many hazards that will gobble up your ball. From thick rough, to trees, Brooks to bunkers this relatively short course will test most players to their limits if you are not precise enough. The green are in excellent condition and a bit on the fast side but very true. The staff and locker room facilities are welcoming and well kept. There is good practice facilities with a driving range and pitching green plus putting green close to the first tee. The nineteenth hole is in a small barn with seating outside if the weather is please with views over the Greenwood 1st and 18th holes. A lovely place to relax after a challenging round.
Parkland course East horton
A great parkland course very forgiving fairways and very well kept. keep it where the mower goes and you'll be sure of a great game.
A Rainy day at parkland
Apart from the weather. Course is well looked after, greens were in top condition, rough unforgiving, but in all a very fair golf course.
The ladies in the clubhouse were superb
The ladies in the clubhouse were superb Couldn’t have done more for us.
Too wet
I think the layout is good but it was too wet to play properly.
I lost balls on the fairway where they just disappeared into the ground.
Too wet to be open
The whole course was standing water, expect for the greens. I don’t think the course should have been open, i walked in after 13 holes.
I’m sure it would be nice when dry, but it was horrendous and not enjoyable on this occasion.
Very good course, greens were very quick especially the 16th which is probably the hardest green.
Played on 20.2.23
Payed £19.99 each should have been £30
Over all course in good condition for time of year
Course was a little to ease 17 and 18 handicaps
Would say it is worth £25 around
Would play again
Good course and lively facility set up
Always expect very good things from a venue that hosts more than one 18 hole set up. The practice area and driving range were both decent. And the bar setup overlooking the 18th of greenwood course was beautiful. Pro shop very disappointing and for a big venue to not have a personalised club golf ball marker was a bit sad. The course itself was challenging and interesting. Rough off line in areas was lethal. Greens were of a good enough quality but nothing to rave about. One disappointing thing was tractors tire marks in the fairway! I played this course on a hot deal so considerably cheaper than the usual 30-36£ per round. I’d like
To okay the greenwood course as well to Compare the difference in quality with that being the supposed more challenging andmprmeium course. At £22 for 18 was a good deal hwkeve rif I paid 30+ I’d probably have been slightly disappointed.
