Challenging course
This course is a very challenging course. Shortish holes but long par threes. Made more difficult by the fact the fairways were more light light rough and the bunkers lacking in sand.
Greens had been tined and dressed so were rather fast. would play this course again if the fairways were cut and sand in the bunkers.
Local Course
Second time I've played Eastham Lodge. I have found the course quite challenging, the greens are well protected by bunkers and some of the fairways grass was longer than I would have liked.
The biggest disappointment was some of the greens were in poor condition, quite patchy.
Course was fairly empty at the time we played and the round took 4 hours to complete.
Eastham Lodge
Nice quiet course layout but fairways very coarse - continually had poor lies. Greens only average. Shortish course which would be a good challenge for high handicappers but poor fairway conditions compromised that.
My round of golf at Eastham Lodge GC
It would be unfair of me to review the course today because it poured with rain all the way round.
Good for the Money
Nice little course, enjoyed my round there (nice sunny day) well worth £11. Only issue was the tee boxes, fairways were in better condition (in need of cut and rolling).
Decent round of golf
Nice course with some tricky holes, greens a little bobbley at the minute but decent for the time of year
Scorched Fairways
After a blistering summer you can almost forgive the state of the fairways. The course played very well and I would recommend if you haven't played before. Greens were overall not to bad, patches were without grass in certain areas but after the summer we have had and due to this course being near a public park this is fine, especially for such cheap green fees.
A nice little littlle golf course.
Considering the weather we are experiencing it was very good. Fairways were very quick and dry but greens were well kept and looked very well.
The response we had from the pro shop was let’s just say different as he had great pleasure in telling us we were playing with two other people and he wasn’t a fan of tee off times(not sure why they are signed up to it then)
However we were only there for the golf and were very impressed for the price we payed.
Don’t expect a warm welcome though
Short but long
Perfect sunny day, looking forward to a normal 4 hour 18 holes 2 ball but was stuck behind 7 four ball pensioners playing society comp. Took 5 1/2 hours before we putted on the 18th. Course is quite short but very challenging and in great condition. Will find out who/what`s out before us next time tho.
Great greens
Short course but lots of features and well placed bunkers very sunny dayreason for slow play
Course was fine. However advised at pro shop that there might be a few minutes delay. Arrived at first tee to find a queue of at least 20 golfers from societies waiting. One couple behind us gave up. Eventually we managed to squeeze in several holes ahead (after asking a fourball if we could cut in) otherwise we would have been well over an hour behind. I can only assume the societies were delayed, or chose to to delay themselves after earlier heavy rain. Nevertheless our tee time should have been honoured within a reasonable margin, society or no society. They do not rule the world.
Good Parkland Course
Played the course with two friends. The greens were in excellent condition. Pro in shop gave tips on the tee positions, which are a little confusing. Pretty much had the course to ourselves. Every green is well protected by bunkers. As a novice I found the course challenging.
Excellent course
In fantastic condition, no hold ups or queuing all afternoon. Friendly staff and v good bar.
Tidy course and decent facilities
Bargain tee booking if £12 via GOLFNOW. Friendly reception from Pro Shop. No problems with tee congestion. Course was in decent condition although one temporary green and evidence of recovering from a wet winter in places although the fairways were generally good. Didn't use the bar this time, but have on previous occasions and it's friendly and has a good selection of drinks and nicely furnished.
Loved it
Great course, fairly challenging with many bunkers on most holes, maintained very well, great clubhouse with friendly staff and members, definitely be going back.
Great value and enjoyable golf experience both on the course and in the clubhouse.
Played the course in late March 2018. The course was busy but the pace of play was fine. No temporary greens either and the course was not as wet as expected. It's a relatively short track with a premium on straight driving although some of the dog-leg par fours need a very long drive to see the green for your second shot. Food was available in the clubhouse until 4.00 pm and the staff in the bar area were welcoming and friendly. Brilliant vale at £10 per round on the day we played. Highly recommended and will play there again soon.
