Nice course slow round was very busy
Considering the amount of rain the course was in good shape there was a few temporary greens tho but not much you can do about that as they are just trying to look after the course. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and they do a nice sausage roll in the pro shop before you go out if your hungry. Shot 82 around here with a 22 handicap so wasn’t a bad day out. I would play here again but in the summer it would be fantastic then I would imagine. Over all Christmas Eve round. Thanks
Ground was in good condition considering the terrible weather we’ve been having
Can see some of the course is in need of some TLC though
A lot of the bunkers are grown over which doesn’t look great
Great considering the weather.
After almost a week of heavy rain, the course was in great condition. Only 2 temporary greens and all grass tee boxes which was refreshing to see at this time of year. Very busy but a good speed of play.
Great course even if a bit wet !
Great course. Nice and flat. A bit wet in parts but understandable given the weather. Par 68 so I’m sure it presents a great challenge to all grades.
Bang for Buck
I’ve played a lot of courses on the Wirral, bit for some reason never this one.
I was expecting a really flat course, but it was actually really interesting, not very long but some great hole layouts, and considering the time of the year, it was in great condition.
The pro shop looked packed full of good stuff and the pro was friendly.
When I’ve got a bit more time to play golf, I’ll be joining this club.
Very impressed and will be coming again soon.
Excellent course, greens very good only problem only a few golf buggies booked 10 days in advance still could not book buggie but nice course
Eastham lodge
Course in great condition exept almost every bunker was GUR
Eastham lodge
Booked for 13.06 which was great got there early & they said that cos we were a two ball that we would be playing with another two ball , didn't know that that could happen waiting to here from you
But excellent day Terry .
Good condition and varied holes
Always enjoy our visits to Eastham Lodge. The holes are varied in nature and the conditions are good.
Good value golf
Fast and true greens. Friendly staff and locals. Unremarkable course which is fairly short but has its challenges and all round good value.
Matured into a really challenging test
It's been about 25 years since I first played this course. At that time it was new, undeveloped and struggling to compete with its more illustrious neighbour.
Yesterday's experience was a wholesale change. The course (except for the bunkers) was in excellent condition throughout. Most bunkers were "under repair", for drainage issues. It has matured into a very challenging test now, which I would happily recommend.
The only issue that I had was with the course layout. In some cases you had a 2-3 minute walk to get to the next tee, and there was no obvious explanation for this.
Attitude and conduct of staff disappointing
Tried for an hour between 4-5pm to get through on the phone to the pro shop, with no reply.
Arrived at the course as part of a three ball my partner went in to ask if we could play as unable to get through over the phone. This was agreed by a man by the name of Paul, in the pro shop. I was then approached by Paul in the car park as i was walking toward the course, Paul was quite rude and aggressive in his manner asking me who i was, was i a member, did i have a tee time, who did i speak to, i answered all of his questions and continued towards the shop. I then heard Paul say to my partner is she with you? I decided i had to enter the pro shop and speak to this person, i explained that i was part of the group and i felt he was quite rude and aggressive, towards me and i will be ringing through to speak to the club the next day. Paul replied good luck with that let me know how that goes.
I have been playing the course at Eastham for many years and i have never been spoken to like that before, all of the other staff are polite and helpful.
This type of attitude is very bad for business, and i did not expect the interrogation whilst walking across the car park.
Good course but needs some TLC
First time playing here and overall it was enjoyable. However, when we turned up we were advised that all greens were being prepared for the Captain’s weekend so there were 18 temporary greens, which wasn’t ideal.
The fairways are in excellent condition but a lot of the bunkers require extensive work. I can see this could be a really great course if the greens and bunkers were as good as the fairways on the day we visited.
We visited a second time after the Captain’s weekend and all greens were playable although not perfect. A lot of the bunkers were ‘GUR’. The fairways were immaculate and the speed of play was excellent.
All staff, members and visitors were polite and friendly.
I would play here again.
Very unhappy
Turned up at the course to be told
There is 18 temporary greens on
As the green keepers are doing work on them
We deserve a full refund
As we never got what we paid for
£32 down the drain
Very unhappy
Very nice course
Excellent course and not too busy when I played. Some challenging holes with nice doglegs requiring control of fade and draw shots. Holes could be signposted a little better though.
Lovely course
Over all Eastham lodge was a fantastic course to play, the one that let it down was the bunker were gur but it looked like they was repairs in motion
