Scorched Fairways
After a blistering summer you can almost forgive the state of the fairways. The course played very well and I would recommend if you haven't played before. Greens were overall not to bad, patches were without grass in certain areas but after the summer we have had and due to this course being near a public park this is fine, especially for such cheap green fees.
A nice little littlle golf course.
Considering the weather we are experiencing it was very good. Fairways were very quick and dry but greens were well kept and looked very well.
The response we had from the pro shop was let’s just say different as he had great pleasure in telling us we were playing with two other people and he wasn’t a fan of tee off times(not sure why they are signed up to it then)
However we were only there for the golf and were very impressed for the price we payed.
Don’t expect a warm welcome though
Short but long
Perfect sunny day, looking forward to a normal 4 hour 18 holes 2 ball but was stuck behind 7 four ball pensioners playing society comp. Took 5 1/2 hours before we putted on the 18th. Course is quite short but very challenging and in great condition. Will find out who/what`s out before us next time tho.
Great greens
Short course but lots of features and well placed bunkers very sunny dayreason for slow play
Course was fine. However advised at pro shop that there might be a few minutes delay. Arrived at first tee to find a queue of at least 20 golfers from societies waiting. One couple behind us gave up. Eventually we managed to squeeze in several holes ahead (after asking a fourball if we could cut in) otherwise we would have been well over an hour behind. I can only assume the societies were delayed, or chose to to delay themselves after earlier heavy rain. Nevertheless our tee time should have been honoured within a reasonable margin, society or no society. They do not rule the world.
Good Parkland Course
Played the course with two friends. The greens were in excellent condition. Pro in shop gave tips on the tee positions, which are a little confusing. Pretty much had the course to ourselves. Every green is well protected by bunkers. As a novice I found the course challenging.
Excellent course
In fantastic condition, no hold ups or queuing all afternoon. Friendly staff and v good bar.
Tidy course and decent facilities
Bargain tee booking if £12 via GOLFNOW. Friendly reception from Pro Shop. No problems with tee congestion. Course was in decent condition although one temporary green and evidence of recovering from a wet winter in places although the fairways were generally good. Didn't use the bar this time, but have on previous occasions and it's friendly and has a good selection of drinks and nicely furnished.
Loved it
Great course, fairly challenging with many bunkers on most holes, maintained very well, great clubhouse with friendly staff and members, definitely be going back.
Great value and enjoyable golf experience both on the course and in the clubhouse.
Played the course in late March 2018. The course was busy but the pace of play was fine. No temporary greens either and the course was not as wet as expected. It's a relatively short track with a premium on straight driving although some of the dog-leg par fours need a very long drive to see the green for your second shot. Food was available in the clubhouse until 4.00 pm and the staff in the bar area were welcoming and friendly. Brilliant vale at £10 per round on the day we played. Highly recommended and will play there again soon.
nice course if the greens are open!
I selected the course from previous knowledge and was looking forward to playing. Checked 2 days before and three holes on temps. Received voicemail on the day informing me that due to Frost all holes on temporary greens. How dissapointing....... Will 'recommend the course on its potential and hopefully get to play when mother nature allows, Thanks to Mark (proshop) for the call.
Need to manage your tee shot to ensure you can get a shot into the greens, which looked immaculate.
We were held up from the 6th all the way round by a member (single player) and his wife (accompanying) an failed to implement golf etiquette despite our efforts to indicate we were playing quicker!!
Notice to members required as I am sure if things were reversed they would have made us aware of our slow play!!!
Poor Weather
Excellent condition considering the weather. There were 8 temporary greens but they were pretty good to be honest. A bargain at the price and will definitely play it again!!!!
So disappointed
Myself and two others were down for the weekend, as part of our Open weekend. Thought we'd play a course on the Saturday and then go on the Sunday. Emailed East Ham earlier in the week, to see the availability of trollies. No reply. Read on the website of the course that trollies and buggies are available so thought nothing of it. Got to the course on the Saturday with out cart bags, to be told they don't have any quite bluntly. Never asked if we'd played before or if they could try and accommodate us. Came back 5 minutes later and grudgingly we managed to get trollies. Practice are is nice. Nice putting green, and 3 lovely big nets. Get to the opening hole and all good. However middle of July a number of bunkers completely water logged, some fairways with grass slightly shorter than rough. Their is signs everywhere for no slow play. However, our round took the best part of 4 and a half hours to play. This was primarily down to slow groups. Given a free voucher, to play again. Not sure I'd really be too keen to play even then. Weekend of the open, I would have had the course in best possible condition in anticipation of potential visitors or players new to the game.
Eastham lodge
Very good parkland course, with some interesting holes, course in good nik, a little more sand in the bunkers, although I should not have been in them
Nice course, lots of bunkers around greens making approach shots tricky. Only downside was all greens sanded and dry as a bone. Still good value for money.
Challaging course
The course is in fantastic condition , with the dry weather the ball travel was longer , the approach shot to the green was very challaging as it was difficult to stop the ball on the green with the dry conditions , so every shot had to be thought through , their are four greens that had bunkers across the front so a bump and run or drop short and run could not be done , so going for the green took some thought and skill , excellent course , if anyone wants a challenge then this the course
Great course
Lovely course. Only one par 5. Greens fast and good, despite a few small patches and GUR. Someone had a work with me for taking my trolley over a greenside fairway. It wasn't marked to say you couldn't go over the area with a trolley, but the guy was polite enough. Later found out it was the club captain.
For the straight hitters
Difficult course one for the straight hitter, but relley enjoyed the course, great condition would play again but will take a 5 wood of most tees
Well maintained course
Course in decent condition and staff helpful. Only negative was layout/feel of the golf course which is quite compact and surrounded by houses/roads.
