True Championship Course

This is my favourite course in Cumbria. The grounds are always in fantastic condition. The course is well laid out with a good mixture of par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s. It has something for each different type of golfer and the setting is truly stunning. Given the choice between Eden and other courses near by there is no question in my mind that Eden comes out on top.

Eden golf club

We only paid £15 to play the Eden Championship course which was great value for money. We received a warm welcome from the staff and club members and although there was a senior competition on in front of us, the pace of play was ok. Eden is a lovely looking course, tree lined with water coming into play on quite a few holes, well placed fairway bunkers make the tee shots quite tight. The greens were still in great condition. An easy walking, very nice course.

EDEN CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE

AFTER THE FIRST HOLE FOUND THIS COURSE WAS A BIT BORING & FEATURELESS,WITH A LOAD OF LONG PAR 4 HOLES. WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN LACK OF ANYONE TO MEET US AT THE SHOP & ONLY A POOR LADY WHO HAD NO IDEA ABOUT GOLF & COULD NOT TELL US ANYTHING ABOUT THE COURSE. MET A FRIENDLY SENIOR GUY WHO WAS VERY HELPFUL .

Enjoyable round

Being a 2 ball following a 3 ball it would have been nice if they had let us play through rather than have us wait on every tee while they looked for their ball in the trees. Apart from that the course was in good condition and the staff were very helpful and the food was good. I think it was a bit over priced compared to other hot deals.
Overall it was an enjoyable day out.

Wonderful features and wildlife

Eden is an enchanting golf course with a range of challenging water features at every turn. The level fairways are ideal for buggies and trolleys and the wildlife on every hole is outstanding. Red squirrels feeding was a sight to behold. Swans, hares, pheasants and Moorhens were all there too.
The Clubhouse is newly decorated and very stylish. Staff went out of their way to help and the food was excellent.

Very enjoyable day

I wouldn't recommend trying this hidden gem. We played it after a lot of rain fall and the first few holes had been affected however the course was in generally very good condition. The bunkers were all excellent and challenging.

Personally I think the course layout is very clever, most holes are relatively short however require accuracy off the tee and good approach shots. Greens ran well and were a decent pace.

Overall well worth playing and would come back again!

Beautiful coarse layout

Great mixture of long and short holes with excellent green speeds consistent throughout the 18 holes . We are on holiday and would highly recommend playing this coarse to anyone. Me and my friend play off 14 and found it a great challenge with water and bunkers all over various positions. Would play again if the wife's would let us play again .

challenging course

First tee was a blind tee shot .so after playing a iron i quickly realised although not a typically long course its needed a thinking game of golf for position rather than length .
Lovley set up and extremely pretty .
Would definitely recommend

Good tight course to play

Had a good days golfing here, nice and friendly.
The people in front of us were a bit slow for my liking (2 of us took over 5 1/2 hrs to get round when we normally take 3-4 hrs max) and the score card pictures dont reflect the holes, there was no reference to water features or bunkers which were hidden in dips and the like which got a little frustrating but apart from that nices days work, the grass is nice and neat and the ball runs on well. Overall thouroughly enjoyed our day there. If we had paid full price though we would have been disappointed because of the little points above.

An excellent venue

I initially booked on to the Hadrian course as I only wanted to play 9 holes. I got a call to tell me the course was undergoing some maintenance and would I mind moving onto the Championship course? No problem and nice to be contacted before I arrived.

Locker room facilities were good and modern, the staff extremely helpful.

It is a number of years since I played the course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was more interesting and less demanding than other courses I've played and it made for an enjoyable 9 holes. Plenty of water in play and the greens and fairways were in good condition for the time if year and weather conditions.

I would recommend this course as a good friendly place to play on a course which is reasonably challenging but fair.
