northern hills san antonio Tx.
I've lived near this course for a while and recently drove by to see the condition; the greens are wonderful, and the fairways were in very good condition. I'll be playing this little jewel again in the near future.
Northern Hills
This course is very well kept up. It's challenging in the sense it keeps you honest in your drives. Definitely worth the money, I recommend this course to everyone.
Greens
The greens were nice with very slight difficulty. Some of the hoes are missing 150 yard marker.
Good facilities SLOOOOOW GREENS
overall a great course. The greens are always very tough. Very slow and very hard to read. Easy to get on in regulation but challenging to make par.
hot afternoon in san antonio
the course is a good layout and not too difficult,, depending on the tee box selected,,, was a very hot summer afternoon in south texas,, but most enjoyable and a good course for the price
green fairways and fantastic greens
very few know of this course/ not crowded/ lots of trees but yet open/ will bring my wife next time/ she'll love it.
Interesting course
I had fun, that is all that matters when you play golf as an amateur. (it is just a game) The course had some interesting holes, none to difficult that they are unfair. Most fairways were wide, green and in very good shape. The rough was just that "rough" and brown, but that's not were your ball is supposed to be any way. There are some nice elevation changes that make for a more interesting round and much harder for you to pick the right club. But there are only a couple of water hazards that don't really come into play. The greens all in all, were in very good shape for August in South Texas. I would play this course again, and if you get a chance give it a try.
slow play
there were 3 - 5- somes and 1- 6 - some directly in front of me on the course.. extremely slow play.
ended up skipping 4 hole to finish
Great place to play
Great place to play. Course was in good condition and nice touch with the two free drink tickets
Condition
Best shape this course has been in, in the last 4 years.
Should be a good time
Everytime I play here, I wonder why I decided to play here. And when I left 18 I said yep that's why it will be another 6 months to a year before I come back! Sanded greens that looked like they were in great shape and didn't need to be sanded. I Actually hit limbs on a tee shot because they don't care about anyone playing from the tips. And maybe mow your tee boxes once a month just for good fun
Greens in Excellent Shape for this time of year
Had a fun round, greens very well maintained and staff was excellent. The only negative thing is lack of yardage markers around the course. The majority of the holes don't have any markers at all. If you want to put a good score you better have a GPS otherwise you will be guessing distances all round long. Overall, nice course to play.
Nice layout doesn't beat you up
Best greens in town this time of year. Nice layout only 6700 yards from tips. St Augustine grass in 2 fairways difficult to hit off of. Will play there again.
SAVE YOUR MONEY-EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE
RUDE SERVICE. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. There are plenty of other courses in San Antonio that appreciate good customers.
Decent Course for the Price
I've only played here twice. My only complaint is clover weeds in the rough are so bad that your ball can disappear even when it's right outside the fairway. I probably just need to step my game up and hit more accurate shots, but I don't like spending a lot of time looking for a ball that wasn't hit too poorly.
a good challenge
A fun course for all levels. Its most challenging from the tips and the par 3s are long. fairways are good, they can use a little growth. The greens are in great shape and roll true. I will play there again
