About
Located just north of downtown near the airport, Olmos Basin Golf Course is one of six municipal golf courses in San Antonio and it is also one of the city's most popular. The championship layout requires accurate drives since there are trees lining all of the narrow fairways. Numerous strategically placed bunkers come into play. There are also water hazards including natural creeks throughout the course. Olmos Basin Golf Course 's best features are the long and demanding par 3s, which are a formidable test for even skilled golfers. The golf course is quite forgiving towards beginners though and four sets of tees make it accessible to all skill levels.

Course in good shape. They ran out of carts and handles situation badly
Greens were fast. Fairways in good condition. Ran out of golf carts and instead of taking a cart from a Peter team time to allow us to tee off, they made us wait 30 minutes past our tee time while they found cart and allowed other groups to tee ahead of us and then asked us to jump ahead 4 holes to get to our original time.

course starts tough with long par 4's, but it played great for winter conditions
Not bad for January
Course was in pretty good shape for early January. No starter or marshal, but overall pace was still good. Greens were firm, but not too firm. Staff was pleasant without being overbearing. For the hot deal I got, this is a great value.
Challenging but fun. Lots of trees for shade.
This course seems good for the intermediate to good player.
good location
I play this course very offen, the location is great it is always in good shape the san pedro driving range is close by, expect it to be busy most of the time, cart paths need work and staff needs to be a little bit more attentive specially the ground keepers that keep mowing right next to you , i had a guy following me for 3 holes with the mower and had to ask him more than twice to move out of the way to hit my ball.
