Great course
First time playing The Longcross course, will definitely be back to play the Bernard Hunt. £50 round for twighlight round is worth it. I wouldn’t personally want to be paying more that 50 pounds for any time of the day. Don’t think it’s worth more than that. But staff were very helpful and friendly.
Good fun and challenging
Good course, well kept, but please can the team put in more signposting. Every green has 4 exits and it’s a nightmare trying to figure out where the next tee is.
Fantastic
I travel a lot with work and when I get the chance I often play courses across the country, where possible I’ll try and tick off a top 100 course. I managed with a work colleague to get a twilight tee time for the longcross at Foxhills. Both my colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the practice facilities that foxhills offers. The course played extremely well a good test of golf within and beautiful setting, tree lined fairways that punish the way ward tee shot, super greens with great pace but receptive to the brave approach shot. The only negative for me was the incredibly disrespectful four ball in front of us who hacked holes in the fairways without replacing divots dropped litter on the greens an tees, drove the buggies onto the tee box and left wheel spin marks all over them, stubbed cigarettes out on the greens. Appreciate you can’t always control the clientele, but surely a course of this stature should have some Marshalling. Luckily it didn’t spoil the round.
Disappointed
Very disappointing course. I know we’ve had bad weather but the on course conditions were atrocious. There looked to be little or no drainage at all. The whole course was boggy and muddy. Shots that went on the fairway got bogged and had to search to find them.
I would say this course is only fit for summer
March wasn’t the right month to play!
I expect the course to have drained better than it had. Really disappointed I didn’t know in advance the greens had recently been spiked and sanded. Such a poor putting surface really let the course down. If you are thinking about playing, don’t, wait until at least the start of April.
Disappointing
From the time we arrived to be told out tee times were delayed by half hour because they don't update tee off times in real time so they had sold our tee time to someone else and didn't think to contact us to the sign on the bar at the end saying no hot food because of gas pipe issues Foxhills disappointed.
The course itself was in ok condition although pretty wet, if I was a gambling man I would say they have drainage issues but in general it was all a bit soggy. I realise it's the time of year so you can kind of accept it, however the greens were poor and there is no excuse for that at £60 a round. slow and hairy with poorly tended fringes. TBF there were few divots on the fairways and pitch marks appear to be repaired so the members are doing their bit.
The moans are a pity because this course has potential, it's beautifully tree lined, it's tight and relatively short meaning the par4's and 5's are reachable in these conditions in their regulation and the 5's would be easily reachable in 2 in the summer with good positional play but I just left feeling a bit disappointed with the whole set up, despite winning 2&1 so not moaning about the course because of the way I played
