Waste of time booking!

Booked a tee time for my partner and myself via Golf Now app. After getting changed, met my partner who informed me she had spoken to a member who told her we were not booked on. There was nobody in the pro shop so I went into the club and the lady behind the bar confirmed my booking for 2 at 12.50. When we approached the first tee, the male member was teeing off and once more told us that we couldn’t have booked as they were now using a new system! Teed off behind his one ball, and by this time there were 3 other groups waiting. After hitting 1st tee shot I was approached by another two members who once again proceeded to tell me that it was not possible for me to have booked via Golf Now as they had switched to a new system. Not the greatest start to a round having to argue with the members just to play there! Suggest the club sort out their obvious booking flaws and members be a bit more welcoming instead of insisting we were in the wrong despite booking being confirmed within the club.

Great views

Enjoyed our round on Sunday, conditions were good considering how wet it’s been, greens were lovely.
Members were friendly although there was some confusion with tee slots and several groups arrived having booked the same times. We were told by a member that we shouldn’t have used golf now as they don’t use it any more 🤔
Bit odd but nice day all the same. Would definitely visit again

Furness winter golf

We played in horrendous weather strong winds and heavy rain, however the course was in very good condition, so hats off to the green keepers

Furness GC 19/11

Decent course, value for money, considering the heavy rainfall for days prior to playing it was in relatively good condition

Great Test on a tough day!

We arrived for our tee time really excited to play this course with it looking stunning online. Unfortunately the weather was not kind at all and it was raining hard and blustery. Despite the weather we knew it was going to be a test of our golf and it really was especially the holes heading backing to the wind along the sea, but some beautiful holes and the condition was good despite the weather. Greens were a bit slow but did run true on your putts. The staff in the shop were great and local members very friendly in the clubhouse. Would 100% play here again

True links

Fantastic course in northwest England…the third oldest 1872. The course was in great shape for the middle of October. Classic links course with smaller size greens and a few false fronts. Played it on a GolfNow hot deal so it was great value. Staff was fantastic..providing great information on the course. If you have not played it before..it is a bit confusing of a layout. I was given fairly good instructions..but also followed a group of locals, which helped with direction. Lots of great views of the ocean from a number of holes. Greens rolled true..not overly fast..but with a good pace. Fairways were in great shape also. There was some rough however not overly deep…so finding your ball is not a problem. I would recommend playing this course.

England's 3rd Oldest Course

I had a great time playing this course. It is a true links golf experience. The fairways were in very good condition…and the greens were excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pace of play was great..I did catch up to a 2 ball..they invited me to play through if I wanted to. They were going to invite me to play with them..but they were quitting after the 14th hole. I would highly recommend this course…and can't wait to get back to Barrow to play here again!

Staff & members so friendly & welcoming.
Course in fantastic condition, & a fine balance between difficulty & playable for mid handicaps
Glorious scenery & views. Breezy, but it's a links course!!!

I'll be back at the first opportunity,

Furness golf

Fairly decent course although no course card overview and each hole was without an overview on the tee box which was poor and on the back 9 often confusing. No professional shop as apparently it’s a shared shop with another course - so no opportunity to purchase kit or drinks.

Great course

This is not a long course but you definitely need to have your brain in gear for every shot here. The greens were fantastic. Some greens are drivable for the big hitters but you may end up in a cavernous bunker if you try. Brilliant risk and reward golf. The 10th is truly one of the best par 3's in the country, it could be anything from a driver to a 9 iron depending on the wind. We will definitely be back again in the near future.
