Very unpleasant, aggressive maintenance staff, poorly trained and managed.

Very unpleasant, aggressive maintenance staff, poorly trained and managed.

Aggressively approaching players.

Staff seemingly needing to be supervised and trained in how to deal with paying customers.

Other players during the course also made the same comments about previous similar experiences. ( Also as seen on review sites)

Poorly maintained greens.

Really improved but....

Having not played Fynn Valley for at least 15 years it was great to be able to play there again. The new facilities look fantastic and the course has somewhat improved since then. The fairways in particular were very good and I liked the small changes to hole layouts challenging. Two of the par 3's were a little uninviting, the 4th, which used to be a par 4 and the 8th between 2 power lines. We were impressed by the nice way bushes , trees and hedges were used to focus you in certain directions and make some holes quirky. We thought the course was nicely laid out (although a bit of a trek between holes) and was in good condition, with good green pace and nicely mown fringes and rough. The only thing that let it down were the bunkers. Some were fine but many were awful. poor sand and poorly edged I landed in one fairway bunker and it was rock hard. It looked like many were GUR and perhaps are to be worked on but for a holiday type resort venue, this is one area it really does need to improve on. The power lines were and continue to be a bit of an eyesore and on the 16th are quite a hazard trying to get through them as you play to the green. The signage, in particular on the back nine was a bit vacant and we had to try and work it too much. Could do with a few more little signs saying where next tees are to avoid wandering around looking for pathways. Overall though we had a really great round and thoroughly enjoyed it. We can see the improvements made and it appears much is still work in progress. When complete, this will be a really lovely course and venue and would definitely play there again. Easily a place I could be a member of.

Good value for money

The greens are excellent , but as with all courses , the rest is burnt out.

My only comment is the lack of " to the next tee " signs . My playing partner had been 6 weeks ago , and even he got lost

Accuracy not length

A little gem. Not long, but you'll need to be very accurate on many of the holes, especially with approach shots. Greens also challenging, but fair.

Tee boxes in good nick, fairways could do with a haircut, bunkers very hard, greens in good condition apart from the 18th.
