An enjoyable round
The course plays nicely, although some of the rough had not been cut due to the weather. The greens were in excellent condition. One bunker was terrible- not able to get under the ball at all.
The pro was very helpful and friendly and shared tips.
I thought it was expensive compared to other courses of a similar standard. I’ve played better courses for less money.
A little gem
Well situated near the M6, I’ve seen this course while driving past and always wanted to play here. I noticed it on golf now and was very affordable for a 3 ball. The course is in immaculate condition, the greens had a little bit of work completed so where a little rough but nothing too bad. The scenery is lovely and considering the M6 is nearby the noise is not that bad. There’s also a train line that runs down the bottom which adds to the charm of the course for me. My only problem is the signage of holes and direction of the next holes as we were new and had no one to follow we got lost once or twice but a great course. I’d love to play again and I’m thinking about becoming a member but it maybe out of my price range considering I’ll only play 7 or 8 months of the year.
Gem of a golf course.
Played the course for the first time and managed to shoot par for the day. Course was enjoyable and the greens were fantastic. I would definately recommend it 100%.
Enjoyable round.
This course is easy to navigate, all tees well signed. Front 11 holes lovely and peaceful, we thought 12 onwards to be noisier due to road noise from adjacent M6 traffic. Quite a demanding course due to the slopes on several holes- which created a challenge- which we enjoyed!! The greens and fairways were in excellent condition- a very well maintained course. Especially liked how every tee had ball washing facilities and a cloth! All in all a lovely round- Thankyou.
Average course
Not worth £35 or £25 for an old dirty petrol buggy. Tees were very confusing and awkward course to play unless you knew the layout.
Driver kept getting me in trouble first 9 and got 11 points.
Put it away and used my five wood and parred every hole off 10.
Short but challenging
Played Gathurst for the first time in perfect weather. The course was in extremely good condition from teebox to green. Although not long, the course is often unforgiving of errant tee shots, so accuracy off the tee is required. The recent additions to the actual architecture of Gathurst make it an extremely attractive parkland course, and my brother and I would highly recommend it. I will certainly be looking to play it again, though, hopefully, with a rather better score than the one I achieved last week.
Great test of golf
We played at 15.30 on a warm summer evening and had the course to ourselves. Not the longest course around but with the undulating tree lined fairways and well protected greens it was far from easy. Some greens had very subtle and clever designed slopes and borrows which kept you thinking even after hitting in regulation the job was far from finished. We didn’t score well but really enjoyed the round and had a close match. The greens were a little long and slow and were maybe due a cut or I would have given five stars. Will definitely return again, as it is so easy to access from the motorway
Challenging
One of my favourite courses, every hole is diffrent challange, a good few hills. Couse is in great condition.
Fantastic greens
The best course we have played this year the greens were absolutely fantastic and the condition of the course was superb well done to the green staff
Second to none
Maybe we just got lucky the day we went but the course was possibly in the best condition I’ve seen any course. Greens were true and fast but soft enough to attack.
Nice course , nice people
Course was in good condition for this time of year. Quite a hilly walk, but some nice views.
Breathtaking
What a course, unbelievable condition and some very challenging and interesting holes. Staff in pro shop were extremely helpful and welcoming and the members were also the same and I ended up joining two of them and their help and advice around the course was greatly appreciated.
Excellent course
Booked a round here as my club was closed due to being too wet following weeks of bad weather. Course was wet in parts but more than made up for this with it’s fine lay out, great features and very friendly & helpful pro & staff.
Very friendly and great course!
First time playing the course, it's winter following a period of heavy rain so conditions were as expected. Muddy in parts, but very playable, especially from the excellent (if rarely utilised on my part) fairways. Greens were good if a little slow and bobbly (think the birds have been pecking at them) even for winter, but I doubt they have been able to cut for a while due to weather. Pro was very friendly, had a nice chat before the round. Very much looking forward to returning when the weather improves!
Lovely course
Great course to play and in great condition. Greens like glass and just couldn’t read them and definitely recommend it to play and is value for your money.
Quite a short course with some nice holes, greens in good condition for the time of year. A pity nobody told me 2 holes were not in play.
