Hollywood Golf Club

Interesting course and enjoyable but every tee and green was heavily sanded which was understandable after the recent weather.
Thought £30 was a little high due to the course condition but would still like to play again in the Summer to see if the greens have recovered.

Played on a windy, intermittently rainy day in February. Course was in good condition considering the amount of rain recently. Very nice course layout, 12th hole in particular is very fun and well designed. Very narrow fairways, if you miss the fairway it’s rare you can go for green as your second shot will usually be obstructed by a tree.

Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Course was really wet but fair play to them keeping it open. Greens not bad for the time of year. Would like to play in the summer when dryer

Course was very wet but i was phoned and warned we would only be allowed to carry as it was so wet. Nice layout, not overly long but a couple of tough holes. Can imagine its a good course when dry and playing a bit firmer.

First time playing on this course, got to hole 11 before the course was shut due to thick fog… the chap from the pro shop found us and kindly given us a courtesy round as it had to close… of the holes we did play they were class and course was in a great condition… looking forward to getting back on soon to play all 18 holes.

Greens on course impressive, broke a lot and quick and true. Course in fair condition with some nice design features. Pretty disappointing limited facilities, small putting green. Unfortunately somewhat of a hostile environment as a visitor but a few members were friendly. 2 ball in front of us were horrendously slow but I think we were just unlucky

Pro’s - greens were lightening fast and ran true

Cons - the fairways are in need of a good watering

Friendly helpful staff and a good condition challenging course. Well worth the money.

Played on busy Sunday afternoon as a two ball.

Fairly flat and though narrow in places, there were plenty of fairways that were wide and generous. Greens were in good condition and fast in places.

There could be some help in finding the next tee on some holes, particularly the back 9,but minor issue.

If you are an average player like me, you'll probably lose a few balls, but not loads.

Car park VERY busy so give yourself some time.

We played Hollywood yesterday 23 August 2020 and we were welcomed by the friendly staff on arrival, we teed off bang on time and the course was in excellent condition especially the greens, have played here before and we will definitely be returning especially as we got a great deal through golf now only paying £20.00 for our round

I enjoyed the course, some challenging holes which made it interesting. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful. We were a three ball and we did catch up a slow four ball but they did finally let us through after three slow holes. I will definitely play here again.

Great course, we’ll maintained course with some brilliant specialist holes.

Played after 11:00 when the rate drops making it value for money tree lined well defined playable for average golfers a couple of tough holes but fair a four ball let us through which doesn’t always happen so got round in just over three hours greens were ok bunkers had been rained on last night but all had decent amount of sand over all this would be eight of ten all day long

I booked for 1.30 pm as the price was great at £12.
Everything on arrival was fine then I was told there was a big group in front of me who are running very late and would I mind starting on the 10th. Not an issue, but then told “we have a few temp greens because of the frost last night”??? I live 7 minutes away from the club and I didn’t get any frost??? So back 9 only 2 greens on, and the holes were on the worst parts of the fairway and ridiculous even try to putt. Front 9 was a little better with 5 greens open. I would have been extremely anoyed if I had the pay the full price for a round with that many greens off.
To go back or not???????????

Checked in and the man behind the main counter looked up and down at me and my fellow golfers like a piece of dirt asif we shouldn’t be there. The course is no better than a council course. 16th hole smells of sewage. Other golfers on the course were loud when your about to take a shot. Stayed for 1 pint at the end but the lady behind the counter told us to take our golf hats off even though there was no one else there as we’d upset the board members. All very clicky and nothing special what so ever. Overall rude and need to learn manners don’t cost a thing
