Willow Springs Golf Course
About
Opened in 1923, Willow Springs G.C. is the oldest golf course in San Antonio. The course has hosted several Texas Opens and many local amateur tournaments over the years and has been enjoyed by several famous golfers including Sam Snead and Ben Hogan. By today's standards Willow Springs Golf Course might seem pretty straightforward, but do not be fooled. The course's par-5 second hole is the longest in the entire city at 663 yards. There are also long, open fairways and a variety of elevation changes throughout the golf course. The popular Willow Springs course is located in eastern San Antonio, only about a 10-minute drive from San Antonio's famous Riverwalk.

Great deal online!
Overall great golf experience! Unfortunately, hole 7 was unplayable due to irrigation installation. There were several ditches crossing cart paths that made it a bit bumpy. Everything else was well kept. Greens were soft but responsive. Keep up the good work! Definitely returning soon.
several holes were closed due to lots of construction but the rest of the course was in good shape.
Disappointed with all the construction that closed several holes and pace was very slow on a slow day. No Marshalls to speed it up. Rest of course was in good shape however so when they finish all the construction it will be worth it. Staff was very friendly.
Outstanding Value, Average Course
Willow Springs has fairly widespread digging going on around the course for an irrigation project. This digging can come into play on some holes if you're a little off the fairway. Also, hole #5 is closed due to this project. In addition, the course is a little soggy due in spots due to all the rain (20+ inches!) in the past month. I found a great discounted rate of $19 per player that included a cart. Great deal and the course played fairly despite the above mentioned caveats. I'll play it again.
good greens and fairways
Been 15 years since I've played this course because of better semi-private courses I can play with golfnow. Needed a last-minute tee time so gave Willow a try. Fairways looked good from 1st tee and green was nice. After that, the irrigation ditches ruined the fairways and drives that were hit in their direction. 16-20 bucks is an ok price for this course while the pipeline project is Going on.
Green is almost always Excellent
This course is pretty much wide open and flat. I love to play at hilly courses with ups and downs, but the reason I come down to this course is that green condition is lovely and the fairway is in shape shape. It was under construction even if I do not know what is about. But the thing is, I guess, course staffs are trying to improve the course shape.
Under construction
Everyone hates when you're playing a course that is under construction. For the money it still was a good deal. They are working on the irrigation lines throughout the entire course.
Greens in Great Shape
I have played this course about a dozen times and have always liked the risk/reward of many of the short par 4's. However, I have never walked away thinking foremost of the condition of the greens. It is very unusual for greens to be in great shape this time of the year, but every single green was in outstanding shape. The only problem was someone in front of us was dragging their feet...thank goodness my brother-in-law and I do not follow tour rules when it comes to repairing that!
A good course to swing hard
Not too many canyons to eat your balls here. Greens are good but only moderate in speed. Nice course.
Great course
Great course. Excellent shape. And across the street from att center where the 2014 nba champion SPURS play.
Course in great shape.
This course is in the best shape it's been in years. Great job grounds crew.
Great Greens
Best greens in San Antonio and over all willow springs is in great shape
Needs work
This course was really good last year when we went. This year it was not as good. Has some bare spots and the fairways lacked some grass to give you good lies.
The course has great greens
The greens roll true. The fairways are in excellent condition.
Enjoyable Course
Course was in great condition. I hadn't played it for a while and had forgotten how challenging and interesting course is. I will be playing again soon.
Only problem was the clerk was an Auburn fan.
Roll Tide Roll!
rains have really helped the course. weather was awesome
tees, fairways and greens in very nice shape
thanks for a good game
Great course, in great conditions
Can't wait to get out and play Willow again, wanted to play a second round immediately following the first.
Super deal with savings from the coupon
Greens were in great shape both in Oct 2012 and '13.
Great Course, Great Condition, Great Price!
The course is in surprisingly great condition! I have been going every weekend for the last 2 months and have not had a SINGLE complaint. Greens are great, fairways are well cut, the only thing that lacked a little on a few holes was the length of the grass on tee box. Pace of play has always been decent, about average. Rates are great, you can play for $15 after 5PM with a cart. Location of the course is kind of poor, but it's not unsafe or anything. Carts come with a Range Finder Device and there is water available every couple of holes. Great course, I love it!
