Great day out
Course in good condition and staff attentive to leaves on a windy autumnal day - greens patchy but not an issue great value for money and we were lucky as not very busy
Return after 4 decades
Nice parkland course from farm fields now with a variety of mature trees. Much in existence still on the back 9 fairways are the ridge and furrow. Great views of the rolling Leicestershire countryside on the front 9 and now a few holes on the back 9 with new housing being built adjacent to the course as Oadby expands.
Glen Course
Very good parkland course … in good condition although there was one green under maintenance when we played.
Good clubhouse with friendly pro shop and bar staff.
Good lunch/ snack menu for afterwards at reasonable prices.
Would def play there again
Nice coarse.
Nice coarse with a variety of holes, some challenging long par 4s , neat and tidy, some greens a bit patchy but under treatment. over all a good day out.
Glen Gorse
Read the reviews but very disappointing. Staff very friendly especially the young man at the pro shop. But the course did not deliver.. greens bad, fairways .. expectations were so high but very disappointed
Nice course
Nice course lots of challeging holes, despite the recent dry weather the greens were in very good condition
Very friendly members and staff
Would play again and recommend to others
Enjoyable round
Good condition considering the dry weather. Greens and tees well kept. Interesting variety of holes.
Greens needed watering
On the whole course was in fantastic condition tee to green, however the greens themselves were like concrete and clearly hadn't been watered for a while. Unable to land anything on them to hold the green, even wedges were running on 10 yards after landing let alone a longer iron where you would have to land it 20 yards short and run it up. Shame as the layout and everything else about the course was in top shape.
One of rhe best
First time I have played there and will not be the last very well looked after and was a pleasure to walk on the fairways, definitely will recommend to friends.
A** rating
Glen gorse
Excellent course and facilities
Greens a bit woolly
Friendly members and staff
good afternoon
course was in good condition , some greens a little marked but overall and value for money really excellent
Nice course and facilities
Glen Gorse is one of my favourite local courses. It is quite a challenge for high handicappers like myself particularly in the winter months, but this week the course and in particular the greens were immaculate, and all four of our group recorded reasonable scores. We were greeted in a very friendly manner on arrival and given access to the locker rooms etc. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use the clubhouse facilities after the round, but will look forward to rectifying this on my next visit.
