Great value with some stunning hilltop par 4s
Impressive course with an interesting layout throughout.
Front 9 is relatively flat and plays as a decent parkland. Hazards throughout and some reasonable length to a few of holes mean it’s a fair test. The back 9 is the stand out - although it’s a seriously holly walk - with some fantastically set up par 4s and a tricky par 3 and 5. A few of the tee shots you’ll be playing down some 100ft+ of relief. Greens in good quality throughout with a fair bit of slope etc
For less than 25 quid on a hot tee time this was excellent value and well worth a round.
Poor condition of course
Winter tees which I have no problem with but temporary greens & we were not told before play!
Great day out
We had a great day all 4 of us, cource was challenging compared to where we play.
We particularly enjoyed the back 9, we will definitely be back to play again and this time do it justice
Enjoyable round
Friendly welcome in the bar. Course in decent condition - the only observation would be the greens, which were very soft and lush, despite there being no rain of note for some time.
Local knowledge would have saved some lost balls, particularly on the back 9.
From 11 onwards its quite a climb which won't suit some.
Excellent course... Poor etiquette!
Played here numerous times and the course is excellent... Have made some good improvements! The one thing I keep encountering (hence time to write a review whilst waiting) is the distinct lack of etiquette! I am playing as a 1 ball and have now caught the 2 ball in front of me up at the last 3 tee box and stood watching them both tee off then walk off to play their next shot! Not even a hint of a chance of allowing me to play through... Especially on the 11th... Ruining my rhythmn and overall enjoyment of round... please make reminders... Even waited on the 9th for them to finish despite the big sign of a call up hole
Gloucester golf course
The work that has gone on in the past year to the course is a credit to the staff excellent condition and the greens superb
Beautiful and challenging course
Played this for the first time and it did not disappoint. Course in great condition, front nine fairly flat but plenty of challenge, water traps and sand taps around greens and key fairway points. Second nine holes take you uphill and back, bit of a climb and great variety of holes. The views from the 12th and 13th tees are spectacular. The 15th hole is a spectacular downhill hole and is good challenge and the 16th part 3 is an island green called the moat (thankfully no water in it), but if you miss the green it is a difficult up and down for past. Look to play again soon. Looked a well stocked Pro shop and used driving range prior to play, staff very friendly.
Nice course
Always enjoy this course, they are improving the course with new water features and tee boxes etc so there is a bit of work going on. We played off winter mats which does make the course a bit easier and there were a few temporary greens in play.but as far as temps go they were some of the better ones I’ve seen. Overall an enjoyable last round before lockdown begins.
Winter blues
Chose course as good quality change from Cleeve hill so paid lit more but was disappointed by following:-
All winter tees
1/3 greens temp and I'll defined
Semi rough too long
Normally enjoy the course but not good value over the winter.
Not recommended as late autumn/winter venue.
No bar/ drinks facility but prob dye to covid.
