This course was in terrible shape.
The course overall was in terrible shape. The greens were in such horrible shape that on some of them I thought I was playing on sand. There were ruts and cracks on the greens and hardly no grass. I would not recommend this course at all.
Sand, spay paint, and weeds everywhere
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. There were weeds on the fairways and greens. The only reason the greens were green was because they were spray painted. The greens also had a fair amount of sand so it was anyone's guess where your put was going/not going.
Just a terrible experience. I'd rather go through the 9-hole twice at Windcrest for the same price than come to this place again.
Dreadful!
I only paid $25 with tax for two players and I found this to be an outrageous price. The course is in awful condition, their website does not portray the condition at all. I don't know why this course is even open, they should close it. The greens have very little grass and a whole bunch of sand on them...awful!
Play anywhere but here!
The course looks and the acts like it's in bankruptcy. They weren't crowded at all and we finished under 47 hours, but had to wait for a cart! They had a full bar, but we had to wait for a cart!
poor conditions
Won't go back. not worth the money. greens were terrible
Place looks like a dump
I went to this course because I was looking for a cheap round. I'm not sure it was worth even that. The staff was very nice but I kind of wish they had more officials on the course to stop people from doing dumb stuff on the course such as kids jumping into the bunkers and playing in them while you are shooting onwards the green. I probably won't play this course again because of the overall condition of the course.
A goat track, no bueno
The greens are unplayable and it was clever to spray
all of the greens with green paint to make them look like they are ok from the fairway. There are rocks in the dirt if you are a little off the fairway ( not all holes ). I took a couple of chunks of metal off of my Ping I 20 ( 9 iron ) just on the 2nd hole from left side rough !
That Ping Iron is not a soft forged metal. 4 holes in I thought about going to clubhouse for a refund but it's golf so my friend and I sucked it up. Back 9 had several greens with sand on them painted green of course. We were unhappy. You should never be unhappy on the golf course. This course should be $20.00 with cart on weekends. I am very upset I paid $28.50. My friend and I will never play this course again. Then I had to go back home and drive back to Austin. A waste of half of day. Good course for beginners because fairways run forever !
This course is horrible!!!
Horrible. The greens have huge potholes full of sand on them. There is no green grass on them. Yardage markers pretty much non existant. On #16 kids on bikes riding around. Had to stop them before we could drive. Then they drove there bikes up to my ball and picked it up right in front of me. Crazy. Do not golf here unless you are dead broke and have no other options.
give it a try
After reading the reviews on this web site I passed on playing here several times, today I was around the area and decided to walk in, very friendly staff, I undestand that for some type of golfers the club house and the parking lot and appereance of the entrance is very important, (even when the are paying not even $30 to play on a weekend with cart and taxes included) , to me when it comes down to golf having fun and meeting people are the most important things and today I have acomplished both, yes the course needs some work but still for $25 with cart on a weekend I already know I ain't playing at the TPC. I wouldn't like to see this course become another Pecan Valley so please give it a chance and consider how much you are paying for playing before rating online this can really hurt a business as it seems is the case with this golf course.

This course has been run down in the past few years.
This course which was once a very good course has been "milked" for every dime the owners could get out of it. They do not water it or fertilize it nor do they take care of the weeds. The greens are in poor shape with many of them having large dead, sandy spots on them. There are no longer any functioning toilets on the course nor are there any porta potties. Sometimes the septic tank at the portable office building if full and even those toilets are out of order. This is a true shame of a golf course and it needs new ownership and management.
Hard to find
This course is operated out of a portable behind an empty building which apparently used to be the pro shop. The signage is kinda strange if you are not looking for it. The value for what was paid to what was received I feel it was completely worth it. Only complaints I have was the little bit of off-roading needed to get from old parking lot to new parking lot; and on hole 9 a guy was hiding near the lake and after we teed off he ran out stole our balls and ran off into the housing nearby. That was just unusual, kinda worked out my second shot was better than my first HAHA.
No greens. Even a two foot putt could bounce offline.
A well designed course, friendly staff but too run down, notably the greens- just green died grass and dirt.
Great course but it's in bad shape
You can only blame winter conitions for so much; brown grass, dead trees and dried ponds are testiment to the cold and drought Texas is experiencing. But the condition of the greens are horrendous. Uneven patches, weeds, and dirt covered or exposed portions are some of the more common sights around the greens. Aside from that the rest of the course is well layed out, and offers plenty of challenges for both beginners and experienced players. When nature decides to let it rain again and with a little more attention this course would easily be the best bargain out there. But in it's current condition I can't recommend this course.
Great Value for the Money
I really enjoy this golf course, many challenging holes. Yes the course is not in the best shape but it is not crowded and for that low of a price it has a great layout! Wish more people believed in this course and could enjoy it.
Front none was horrid, back nine was alright
Lamest excuse of a golf course I've ever played.
Unless its free, I won't be golf back
Don't waste your time.
This place is in disrepair to the point that they no longer have a clubhouse. The have placed a trailer by the #10 tee box and that is now the "clubhouse" You have to drive over a dirt mound that they used to go over a curb to get to the new "parking area", which is really just an area that the grass was removed by the #10 tee box. From the tee boxes, which are about as flat as the earth, the greens looks beautiful. Once you get near the greens though, you find they have just been painted. There are huge sections of the greens where there is no grass at all, just green painted dirt. Never going to be playing here again.
