Tough narrow course

Played many times around here. Very tough course especially on a windy day.
As per the usual hot few weeks it’s been, the fairways are in need of a lot of water. Most parts are dry and almost unplayable.
I’ve seen the reports of removal of the gorse bushes, well that’s true but it’s way off the playing areas so not a big issue.
Certainly will return

Avoid

Bomb site, pricy, spent money on greens and tee boxes , the rest is mainly GUR , first shot over the race course , almost hit on putting green by members , didn’t get any better , ground was hard and devoid of any grass , rough was cut down roots and stones, don’t take your new clubs unless you want them scuffed , £40 a round ridiculous, played Dunstable Hall the day after for£20 , course was in fantastic condition although short, but really tricky for first timers , at least 10 staff on course , repairing bunkers, trimming, cutting , unlike Caister which had nobody on, bunkers were shocking , had to play them as GUR also

Lovely course,extremely friendly people.

Played the course a few times over the last several years. The best condition i`ve seen it in.
I`ve always found the people who work there to be incredibly helpful and friendly.
The clubhouse has been completely refurbished and is superb.

I played with two others and we are all keen to head back later in the year.

First Links Course

Excellent friendly staff on arrival. As it was my first time here, I was shown the first tee and was told where the next few holes were, which was a great help. It's really weird playing around and through the horse racecourse but adds a bit of adventure. Landed in one of those Links bunkers, but the result out was great! Really liked the 14th shortish Par 3. Hidden green but surround by bunkers! Use TeeOffTimes for deals, will be back!

Lovely People

We have never played at this course before. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly pro who told us everything about the course. The members were lovely (and patient) we lost our way a couple of times and they put us back on the right path. The course is well kept (and quirky, with the first 10 being built within and around a race track). We loved it and will be calling again soon. (Hopefully to finish in time to sample the wonderful food which was coming out of the kitchen before we tee’d off).

Oldest golf course in Norfolk

Playing at this course is a fantastic opportunity to play a different style of golf, when used to parkland courses. I played here twice recently and the wind was in a totally opposite direction the second time, which makes you think about each shot. Highly recommended.

Good fun

We enjoyed playing this course for the first time and liked the quirkiness. Even though it had rained heavily the course held up OK. a lot of frustration at a 4 ball who let a men's 2 ball through but did not show the same courtesy to our 2 ball (ladies) even though we waited on every tee from the third for them and no ... no-one in front!
