Good varied hole layouts
Enjoyed both visits
And the trains pass-by
Still suffering from the summer drought on the fairway
But should recover fully in the coming months
The Pro is very helpful
Long but fair
Second time playing here and thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions.
It's a very long course but is very fair in terms of rough and hazards.
Bunkers were all GUR as a result of recent heavy rain but otherwise no complaints about the course. Greens had been hollow tined but we're very fair and the ball rolled well.
Great value and very nice countryside and well worth a visit.
Always like playing here' only down side is slow play' or just not being called through.
Very Interesting Course
Really enjoyed the round
Sadly the fairways are suffering from the dry summer
Looking forward to playing there again
Even got a Halfway Round Loo
Greens very fast, my weak part of game.
But I'm sucker for more
Great Pro's shop
Greens fast and tidy , long course , but enjoyed it
Was a cheap game of golf and that was about it.. Pro not very helpful at all seemed to want rid of you out the pro shop ASAP.
Pace of play was good as no one around. Had to beg bar staff for pint after finish as he called last orders at 8.30 on a glorious summers day. Few other courses near that are better in my opinion.
Maybe a bad experience?
Beautiful weather, on arrival at Pro shop was greeted by a very helpful man. Explained about the course, as I hadn't played here before. Great value for money & fairways were browned out. Very good greens, though a little small. Wide fairways, some interesting holes. Really enjoyed my round, will play again when we've had some rain.
Worth a visit
Very good greens with a little work in progress.
Lush wide fairways , nice short second cut,
a credit to the green-staff , friendly staff too.
Doubt you would be disappointed .
at first glance an open course, but still challenging at times, need your straight game as plenty of chances to get in thick rough, or long grass between fairways, good layout with only 2 chances of playing the wrong hole but well signposted. good dry day and course dry and well cut, bunkers with plenty of sand depth, overall a good days golf, such good value we played again on the sunday, only downside no food after 4 pm on a sunday, but at least the bar was open although t v reception was rubbish for the world cup game.
A great course to improve your game
Nicely kept course. Quite long, with mainly wide fairways so suited to big-hitters and novice players.
The greens are good and quick and the views outstanding on the back nine.
This is a course which is no longer looked after, the greens were in a bad condition.
Good open game
Both my friend and I hadn’t played for sometime and needed a course with open fairways but challenge big holes. This course gave us both and considering the wet spring was in very good condition. Greens were perhaps a little fast , god help anyone playing the greens as the summer drys them out. Good day superb food and friendly bar staff.
Great day's golf
Course in superb condition for the time of year. Three holes were closed but this did not compromise our enjoyment of the day. Fairways were in good nick and greens were true and surprising fast for the wet conditions.
Facilities in the clubhouse are good and staff are friendly and helpful. Would be helpful for visiting golfers to have a bit more signage on the course (e.g. a diagram of each hole on the tee, 150 marker posts etc).
Overall an excellent course and we had a great round. Very good value - the course we played the day before was morte expensive and nowhere near in as good condition.
Nice course on main greens in January' can't complain at all.
Always like playing here' shame about the slow play or not getting called through' especially when holes in front are clear...3 hour 15 mins golf course for a 3 ball...can take 5 hours.
Played on a Saturday afternoon, course was really quiet and in beautiful condition. Nice long course, fast great condition greens. At £15 was absolute fantastic value. Will be back.
Course was good but very slow
Unfortunately must have chosen a busy day. The round took us 5 hours 20 minutes. Very slow
