Ripped off
Paid £16 each only to get to the course and be told it was all temporary greens. Extremely disappointed there was no discounted rate for this.
Friendly Members
Played late morning as a 2 ball starting 20mins behind a Members morning. On some courses this could have meant we were in for a long slog but massive thanks to the members who allowed us to play through with grace and good humour and ultimately enable us to complete our round in just over 3 hours. I wish this was the norm at other courses.
As for the course itself, it's in good condition for this time of year and the greens certainly above average. We're given good info on the phone the day before as didn't want to play on temp greens, it's a necessary evil to keep the putting surfaces in the good condition They were for us.
The course plays quite a bit shorter off the blue tees so good drives didn't leave big approach shots but each hole has its hazards which are fair but also a bail out if you aren't feeling positive!
Will be great to see this course mature over the next 5-10 years and it will become a tough test when some of the smaller trees grow.
I will be back regularly there is no doubt about it.
Great course
It was a cold and foggy start to the round, couldn't see 50 yards in front for the first 5 holes, plus it was difficult to see the white flags for the temporary greens. However I've played this course a few times under normal conditions and really enjoyed it.
Excellent Course
A superb mildly undulating parkland course that is forgiving for the slightly wayward shot. We, as beginners, felt very welcomed to play this very well laid out and manicured course. There is rough for the wayward to contend with and water to avoid too. the fairways are generous, greens well cut and welcoming with a mix of bunkers to avoid. there is a nice mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's too. We enjoyed this a lot and are looking forward to playing there again.
Good long course
Great course some nice long holes as well as some tricky short par 3s, also some 400+ par 4s. Greens in good condition and very true
