Throughly Enjoyed Round
I hadn’t played this course in 15 years and to be honest, couldn’t remember anything about it.
Was a quiet day, so teed off earlier than booked and wizzed round bar the 4 ball on the 9th.
I found the course a good length, challenging with some of the tighter fairways and enjoyable.
Some really nice, well thoughtful holes that made you think. Especially the 10th, 11th and 12th.
Not a fan of the 200+ par 3 to finish. But that was the only hole I disliked out of the 18 holes.
For £20, I will definitely be returning to this little gem.
Frustrating members
I personally have been a golfer 35 years and i always looked at this course as what lookedvand sounded good unfortunately the actual day was very bad . Tees fairways in v good condition but the greens and bunkers were a very big let down bunkers had no sand in them like hitting off concrete the greens were patchy in places but you couldnt fire balls at the flag on most holes we pitched balls close that ran off the green at the back one in particular pitched 4 inches by the hole and ran out of bounds out the back !!!! On the 14th we were approached by a member saying we have a club rule about having shirts not tucked into trousers now we have no issue with that but what about other etiquette for there course it took 6 hours for us to go round we had 2 golfers in front of us that shoukd of been playing a crazy golf course never seen so many bad shots but even though we werehitting clearly better and further not once were we offered past to me and my partner if your holding ppl up you let them through its simple granted it wasnt them holding us up but we were also better than 4 groups in front to make matters worse for us when on the 18th we let 2 v nice lads through as they 1 ad a buggy and 2 were in a comp but they explained a certain 4 ball that held everyone up every week were the issue they named them we watched them many timescas you cross a lot on this course dangerously so on a couple of holes as my partner nearly was hit on the head on the 16th with no shout of four and the group just walking past us to go to the ball on our hole straight to there ball before he played his shot which is disgraceful on any course but agai n to the slow group who had no one in front of them for about 12 holes yet never let any one through and continued v v v slowplay these people need to be spoken to about etiquette and slow play but apparently its a club knowledge not to play behind them i was a member of a clib for 22 years and if we were slow we let ppl through ive personally never been warbed for slow play this for me as a vlub needs looking at .i will say the ladcin pro shop was absolutely superb couldnt help enough and we had some nice chats with other members it felt we spent all 6 hours chatting not golfing also some of the holes are unnecessary hard the 7th in particular hit drive 280 still couldnt see the green on a v v sharp ladt 80 yard dogleg tee should be down risk and reward shot but 10th again very strange hole the stroke index 1 was for us one of the easiest holes both pared both nearly birdied there is some nice holes to the 4th is v good challenge 16th to club needs to look at slow play and etiquette. For the record i went round in 76 my mate 78 frustrating and really no need for such bad non golfing etiquette.
Hinckley Delivers!!
This course charges more than most of the others on GN but it’s so worth it. Flawless presented with superb greens even in winter conditions. Don’t let the price put you off. You’ll be richly rewarded. My only gripe was they didn’t have a club ball marker in stock.
Great course …course etiquette needs to be addressed
Played this course before so re booked to be found a four ball with three bags …this is basic call to the pro shop to be told one person is a member….not impressed would think twice before returning not what you expect of a course with such good quality
Excellent!
Course was in excellent condition and has clearly been looked after well through the recent heat wave. Each tee shot is a challenge as the fairways are narrow and the hazards are well placed. Last played here over winter off of mats and playing off the tee’s this time round added a good amount of yardage to some holes. Greens were soft and receptive but putting was tough as they were quick and turned a lot. A lovely course which I’ll play again and again.
Great course!
1st time playing the course and certainly won’t be the last! Great course, the greens were perfectly kept and were great to putt on. Great selection of holes and well placed hazards. Highly recommend
Good course and Friendly Members
First time playing the course and found it a good mixture of fun and challenging. Played on a cold & wet day, which made the course play longer and with some narrow fairways some tee shots were really testing. Course was sin excellent condition despite all the rain, and whilst there were a few temporary tee boxes the matts were clean and in great condition to hit off of. Greens were also in good condition and no pitch marks were left unrepaired like they are on some other courses. Ended up joining with a 2 ball behind as the course was fully booked ahead with 3 and 4 balls, both members were friendly and enjoyed talking about their course and giving advice on each hole. Looking forward to playing again when the weather is better.
Lovely parkland course
The course was a good challenge with water coming into play on several holes. Quite an easy course to walk.
Lovely course
Friendly and helpful staff. Course was in very good condition particularly the greens which were very true and quick. Will definitely be back very soon. A great test of golf. Excellent.
A great course
Considering the weather the course was in great condition. Some of the holes were very wet as there has been a lot of rain. The greens were fantastic running very true with no bumps.
