Another enjoyable round
Played here a few times now and it’s a lovely course.
Usually in great condition but the last few times it seems like nobody rakes the bunkers, and I mean nobody! One was like a child’s play pit!
Is it coronavirus that means takes aren’t available?
My own course supplies mini rakes that you must carry and use!
Otherwise a nice round and will look forward to playing again when an opportunity arises
Best course I've ever played
This course is the best course I have ever played, so much so I've booked again to play 2 days later (tomorrow) the staff are very helpful and will point you in the right direction along with the club members. The pro shop is very well equipped with plenty on offer.
The course itself is very well looked after and a credit to the management and green keepers, some very long par 3s and 4s (well to me anyway) good management of the pin positions to with 3 different coloured flags representing if the pin is front middle or back of the green. Due to Covid as per all courses there is no rakes in the bunkers but they are still in good condition (I think I tried most of them out) and the holes are filled with a steel cup so no lifting of the flag needed, just pick your ball out. The fairways are fantastic and the ruff well you can still find your ball.
The 19th is very nice, great service and nice selection of drinks to quench that thirst you built up.
Can't wait until tomorrow to play it again, looking to smash my score from yesterday.
Course in good nick
Played today and found the course in great condition, the greens were tip top and fast, shows my old club up somewhat
Great course
The course is very well kept and challenging. The staff in the pro shop are very friendly. Only issue was a couple of older members were not the friendliest in the clubhouse, as upon entering and sitting down one immediately ordered me to take my hat off in a impolite manner, then proceeded to talk to another member about how it's not right people wear golf shoes in the clubhouse (my playing partner was wearing a pair of modern spikeless shoes). Other than this the course was great.
Can't comment on the clubhouse or staff as I didn't sign in our booking but if there was any issues I'd probably know. Really enjoyed the course, greens were in good nick. Couple of par 3 tee boxes need some nuture. Pace of play was fine. Only gripe was the few fairways close together near the clubhouse. There was balls flying all over at one point "FOOOORE". Once away from there it was a lot safer. The Hobson wind was also in affect. I'd play again sometime
Great value for money
Paid £20 each on golfnow for 3 ball, great value as course was in great condition, and a decent challenge. Keep you're whits about you when playing, a constant shout of fore could be heard Due to the layout of the course. Rate of the play was slow
Hobson golf course
In my opinion one of the top 5 courses in the county. Nice layout and "friendly" to those who can't always hit a straight shot. Most of the rough is nicely kept so finding balls from your wayward strokes is usually not a problem. Play here and you won't be disappointed.
Great Day
A great day at Hobson Golf Course. It's at quite an altitude so is always a bit windy - the 'Hobson Wind', apparently - but it didn't spoil the round. The course was in excellent condition especially the greens, which were fast and true. The fairways are wide and the course generally is forgiving. Hobson is a nicely laid-out parklands course with plenty of trees. The clubhouse is splendid with a balcony overlooking the final hole. Staff were very friendly as were the members we encountered on the course. Overall a really good day on a lovely course, and one we shall be visiting again soon.
Great for beginners
Great course for beginners, well maintained, nice clubhouse and shop!
Excellent course
Played this course with a friend. Excellent friendly staff. Course was in lovely condition and very fun to play. You won’t get on a better course for ten pounds.
Great course
Lovely course not too challenging, shame it poured down most of the way round but will definitely be back on a better day! Love the idea of coloured flags to define pin position on the green. Fair price for a fantastic course.
