Not Golf as you know it

I have played golf 4 times over the last week at Hoebridge. I would recommend the 18 hole par three for beginners, it is hit and miss with regards to slow play, Greens are very poor but to be fair what else would you expect.

The Shey course is good fun but be prepared for the slowest round you have ever played, my experience tonight is that it was filled with people who have no understanding when it comes to etiquette on a golf course,

I had a couple in front, one had never played one was poor, no problem there, but he was 200 yds in front of her and left her to her own devices, not convinced that relationship will last.

Eventually after politely requesting we were let through, only to come across a similar couple , they waited for the green to clear on a 368 yd par 4, they had more chance getting an UBER!!

The bottom line is that whilst I am keen to promote golf amongst beginners, the promotion should include the basic etiquette required on a golf course,

1 hour 30 minutes to play 4 holes is an embarrassment, needless to say will not be back!!!

Can't cope with teeofftimes bookings

Confusion upon turning up. Pay your pound each supplement to book through here on top of your £27 green fee and find you're "not showing up on their system" managed to persuade them to let us sneak in and start on back 9 as of course first tee chocka. Sailed through until a ridiculous society looking four balls on buggies slowed the pace to a painstaking level for front 9. Such a relief to get off at that point.

Short but enjoyable

The course is nice & plays well, however it is only 6300 yards long. The course is well designed & has some challenging lay ups for the greens, which were pretty quick with the dry weather on Monday.

However I would recommend the course to anyone that hasn't already played it.

Good course, could be great

This is a nice test of your golf game. Variety of holes and elevation changes makes it interesting. Several blind tee shots to be aware. Greens were in great shape but fairway was average at best so if conditioning improves, this could be a great course. Great view of Surrey Hills from elevated tees. Will be back for sure.

really great course

Really lovely course. It's long and hilly and challenging in parts, but it's set in a stunning part of Surrey with super views.
