Greens were great
Greens were almost impeccable and were actually the main defence for what appears to be quite a short course. The positions of the pins made each green a real challenge especially putting. The greens were overall in excellent condition. The fairways weren't as in good condition but still perfectly playable. Most bunkers were pretty good, some could do with a bit more sand in, especially the front bunker on the second par 3. decent putting green although there were no flags out when we were there. They also had some warm up nets in place of not having a driving range I assume. There were some matts to chip off onto the putting green, which was a nice touch. The club house was pleasant and had friendly staff, there was a tv in there also so we could watch the Ryder cup whilst we ate. Food could have been a bit better but it was cheap enough. Intriguingly it looked like the clubhouse had a simulator room, I am assuming for the members. Overall very pleased with the course for the price we paid. Although it appears a short course and the longer drivers will be able to hit a couple of the short par 4s in one, it still proves a challenge to an average golfer.
Great day at Hurtmore
Everything fantastic. Not too busy.
Everyone we encountered super friendly.
Even the weather was good!
Hurtmore
Lovely Course in Great Condition ! Greens good and about 4 hr Round
Great all weather course
This is a great all weather course with moderate difficulty and length. The green fees are competitive. I would definitely recommend it, particularly to players looking to improve their game in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
Much improved
I play Hurtmore several times a year and I have to say yesterday I was pleasantly surprised at how much it had improved. New pre-round driving nets were the first thing and a chipping mat to allow you to chip on to the putting green. A simulator studio is also available for the adventurous too. The greens were well kept & fairways drain well even with a deluge!
Lovely little course
Had a nice round here yesterday. Greens were in good condition, generally running true. Just a couple of spots where a bit of TLC needed.
Course is clearly benefitting from some investment and it’s great value for money. Nice clubhouse too.
Would recommend that the bunkers are raked more often, a lot of that really is down to each player tidying up after themselves. As is repairing your own pitch marks, some education for the visitors needed!
Great for short hitters
Many short holes which suit a short hitter. It could be perfect for winter golf when there is no carry. I didn't like the surprise OOB on the 6th but otherwise I loved playing the course. The 18th is a bummer with a short lob over the pond to bunker in front AND in back! Very friendly staff. I'll be back even if I have to pay full price.
Nice layout, not very long, greens in excellent condition
Decent course, with greens in good condition. The bunkers lacked a bit of sand in places, not not terrible. Due to the weather the fairways where very dry and hard, which meant for very long tee shots. It's an easy course with a number of short par 4's. Staff friendly and helpful.
Nice course, gets very busy however
Always a lovely course to play in the summer. Super friendly staff to greet you and in the bar afterwards. Course condition is OK at the moment, the tee boxes are a little lumpy and bumpy and the greens would benefit from some watering but overall it’s still a pleasure to play. It does get VERY busy as it’s one of the more reasonably priced pay and play courses in the area, so be prepared for a wait every now and then on the front 9. Friendly members who will often waive you through if playing on your own or even invite you to join them. Always enjoyable in the summer, and I will be back.
Decent round
Played here a few times now lovely course for the price. My only complaints would be you can get held up a few times especially as we played a two ball and not a fan of the clubhouse but there’s a nice pub next door for a post game pint
