Aggressive staff member
Second time I’ve played this course. The first time was a great experience. unfortunately the second time I ran into a very rude and aggressive member of staff.
He came charging over to us on the 9th hole to tell us we should not be using our trolleys due to the course conditions, very abruptly.
When I pointed out that it had not been mentioned when we checked in he became very agitated and said are you going to stand here arguing with me there’s a sign. Easily missed if you not a regular and don’t know where to look. And then implied that maybe we shouldn’t be on the course at all. Questioning how we had booked in a very aggressive manner.
I Would not want this guy representing my business.
Awesome Course
Despite the low rating this course is in fantastic condition… played here 3 times Over the last 6 weeks I love it.
Top course
From playing about 25 years ago the change is first class it a top class course all round.
Greens are fast and true
Bit slow at times but players let you through so fine
Will be returning soon thanks all your staff
Was over booked and play was that slow you was sat waiting on the tee for at least 15-20 mins won’t be going back
Buggy rip off
Tee off 10.56 a 3 ball.
We decided due to having back issues to have buggies. Told that they are £30, which was £5 more than we paid for the golf.
The buggies didnt have satnav of the course
were dirty and full of rubbish from at least the day before so had to remove rubbish and wipe over the buggies before we started.
The weather changed and due to torrential rain we had to stop after 10 holes.as it was getting dangerous in the buggies.
I have played here many times never an issue with the course, but feel ripped off over the buggy price.
Probably won't play there again.
Slow play
Very disappointed. From the third hole onwards we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to tee off as there was a three ball in front of us and a fourball in front of them . If there had been a Marshall in a buggy speeding up play that would have helped . I played with me son and two friends who were just as frustrated as myself . I wanted to complain at the pro shop but was not in the right frame of mind . I regularly use Golf Now so this why I am writing this review . A refund would be appreciated .
This course was totally over sold. Shame on you Golfnow
I've played this course a lot, and really like it. Twice in last year we've decided to leave as it's so crowded it's not enjoyable. We waiting 21 mins at the fourth hole just to plat the next hole as a society was playing 5x four balls. Even chatted to some members who said this happens all the time. Complete rip off for £32 for a two ball. The course was clearly over booked, and I'll be reluctant to ever play here again a on weekend. Hoping for a credit here, but I'm sure it's covered in the fine print. Tried to call the number for Golfnow listed on the web, it's not in service. Not a very relaxing Sunday afternoon, and we love this golf course.
What a delight
First time I have played this course in about 15 years! It was a pleasure. Watering system has helped maintain the course in this dry season. The trees have grown and matured well. . I will return soon.
Lovely course but weirdly empty
Stopped at Stratford Park (formerly Ingon Manor) on the way back to London from a wedding in Staffordshire. The front nine make great use of the hills, with some challenging uphill holes and some fun downhill ones. Fairways very well maintained and greens were in excellent condition although very firm with elevation changes, leading to a lot of balls running off into the side rough. Bunkers were in good shape.
Back nine seemed a bit more rustic and a little less tidy, with evidence of drainage work ongoing on some holes - likely explained by the lower elevation of this half of the course vs holes 1-9. Holes 10-18 felt tighter, however, with greater chance of losing balls to trees or water than on the front nine. The Par 3 17th over water is a nice signature hole.
What was striking about our round was how surreally quiet the course was on a Sunday at 1.30pm (with OK weather forecast). As we teed off a group was coming up the 18th fairway, and another were on the 10th green, but other than that we barely saw any other golfers for the entire round (with the exception of a two-ball going off the first as we played the 12th). As we reached the turn we hopped off to visit the pro-shop to grab some more refreshments, but unfortunately this was already closed (3pm).
As we came off the 18th (~4.30pm) it wasn't clear whether the bar/clubhouse was still open - there was no one around outside and the car park was largely empty (except for a fleet of golf buggies standing unsued), so we headed straight off.
This is a really nice course, and great value for money on a weekend lunchtime for £25 - hopefully we caught it on an unusually quiet afternoon and it gets more custom than we witnessed, otherwise it's hard to see it being sustainable, especially given how well maintained it is.
Good back 9
Some great holes on the back 9, but greens had just been spiked and sanded which made putting tough. Would go back in summer when drier and peak conditions
Sexist staff
My wife was subject to a tirade by the member of staff at the start.
He was abusive and obviously under pressure as a large group of male golfers all in buggies were waiting to tee off afterwards.
There were no other ladies on the course and my wife and daughters had to miss the first hole to get away.
As a result it ruined their round.
It will certainly it a course we will never visit again
A little wet
Booked this course hoping the £30 price tag would mean it was well draining and would be good winter golf, was disappointed very wet I'll be sticking to Whitefields for now for £15 you can't go wrong
Fantastic local course
This course is always in good condition. Never had a problem with slow play here either. One of the better courses in Warwickshire in my opinion.
Great course
Very welcoming pro shop , super friendly explained all we needed to know, course in great condition, advantage if you can drive the ball , would definitely be going back
Perfect
Friendly pro shop great course , would go back without a doubt,
Superb
Wanted to write a review after my first round on the course yesterday . Arrived at the pro shop to a very friendly warm welcome by the owner . The course exceeded my expectations , peacefull , beautifully maintained , superb price for an afternoon round of golf at the weekend , greens were quick and a pleasure to put on ( every single one )
Will definitely be back to play here again
Lovely course but get a buggy if you want to be quick
Great course with well maintained fairways and excellent greens. Some fairways very tight. Deceptively difficult angles on some tees. Quite hilly in places where you will wish you had a buggy.
