Careful

The course is beautiful. BUT, on this occasion was wet. Too wet. So bad that I slipped on level ground on a green surround.: damaging my back. I play regularly:2-4 times a week, so am used to walking a golf course. Even in winter: I’ve not encountered anything as dangerous. Be careful. Be VERY careful. I have played Keswick in better conditions. It is a lovely place to play.

Picturesque course

Have always wanted to play here and wasn’t disappointed when I finally did. The course played really well considering the time of year and the greens were fantastic and seem very well looked after. The only shame was the bar wasn’t open and there was nowhere to buy food so went to a pub in the nearby village of Threlkeld instead. Can’t wait to come back.

Great value

For the time of year and the price, this was excellent value. Staff were very helpful, course was holding up well to the heavy rain over the previous days. Quite a climb up some of the hills, so you have to be fairly fit, but well worth it for the breathtaking views of the Lake District.

Gerry’s thoughts.

Fairways are in excellent condition given the course can get very wet. However the grass on all tees needed cutting badly and copious amounts of sand on some greens made putting a lottery at times.

Wonderful setting, great course

Played this course many times over the last ten years and this was the best condition I have found it. Unbelievable setting, temp green was not a great start but after that it was superb. One or two greens could be slightly better, but in did not detract from a great round. Helpful bar staff as my mate needed a buggy due to knee problems.

Spectacular views

From checking in at the bar to chatting to and getting advice from the greens keeper on the last everyone was very friendly and helpful.
My first time playing Keswick and it was a perfect weather day.
The course has no bunkers but the greens are well protected by the natural landscape and clever positioning ( beware going long on 4 or 5 greens).
A variety of tests to keep any golfer thinking and enjoying the game. There are a few hills but this is the lake District so that is to be expected. The views are just spectacular and worth playing the course for.
I would not hesitate in playing it again, thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Keswick

Played the course for a change of scenery. Lovely morning and course in good condition. Some challenging holes and shots. Enjoyable round, spoiled by one thing. One gentleman who was extremely rude, obnoxious and full of his own self importance when we walked to the first tee, although a little early. Just no need for attitudes like this. Tainted the round unfortunately and a poor reflection on the club.

Not a bad little course, quite demanding for overall length. Greens could be better but we’ve played on worse . Fantastic views from every hole which is a bonus. Demands accurate shots from T to green as the rough is high and thick !! Overall, conditions were very acceptable and well worth the money. We have played this course many times and would not hesitate to play again..

What a shame

It’s 2 or 3 years since we last played Keswick and it was sad to see the state of the course compared to what it used to be like. The greens in particular were very poor. There are many great holes on the course as well as being in a wonderful setting but it just needs some tlc. I really hope the course is able to get back to what it was like.
