Great winter course
Mid-winter blues, weeks of rain, most courses struggling with mandatory winter matt’s & waterlogged greens, on temporaries. We were really pleased to play Kilton Forrest. It’s built on a sand base so drains really well, so we enjoyed playing preferred lie on fairways, no matt’s, full greens and tee boxes. It was in a really good condition.
It is a nice municipal course. some nice holes.

Well looked after golf course and in great condition for time of year. Does not appear to suffer too much from all the rain we’ve had and was very comfortable under foot. Great value course, we’ll back again.
Good Condition Considering All The Rain In Recent Months
All holes on temporary tees and four temporary greens but generally much drier than most courses in the area (no mud on bottom of trousers after round!!). Enjoyable change to our regular course.
Good course
Course is always in good condition, pace of play is good and staff are very helpful
Great for winter - friendly staff
Saw a weekend deal that was to good to miss- plus our home course only has 13 holes available,
Special mention to Rob in the pro-shop, extremely helpful and friendly.
The course is challenging with many different approaches, Only 1 magnet- I mean water hazard and we managed to keep the same balls throughout the game- none were donated to the course.
Again the course was firm and consequently provided some carry- hence closer to the green lol.
There was only 1 temp in use so for this time of year that was very good.and the greens were great for this time of year- still having some pace to them helped immensely, even when it started raining.
There were plenty of players on and therefore the pace was only reasonable- many times having to wait until taking a shot every hole and Par 3 2 in the queue.
We have rebooked for the following Sunday for a 3 ball., see how that one goes.
Value for the money
Cost me 12 pounds to play this course the greens were excellent everything was great. 1 hrs drive to get there worth every penny.
Corse
Lots of dog walkers and young kids crossing over many of the holes ,, our T off was 10.07 we Teed off at 10.32 , very over crowded
Kilton
Course great this time of year bunkers unplayable and new temporary tees badly designed as small and tee pegs directly behind one another you’d fall off the mat using back one
Nice course
Was a very cold icy day but what a pleasure to walk around. Luckily fairways were wide as the ball ran on and on and on lol. Couple of winter greens to be expected and all on new winter tees. Staff were amazing very friendly and helpful
Great course
Absolutely amazing course, wide open fairways, very forgiving for the less good golfers. Greens a little slow due to weather but can't blame course for that.
Dry at last!
So nice to play on proper fairways and greens without paddling in mud!!
Kilton’s sandy soil manages to defeat the relentless rain of the last few months to provide a very good value walk round.
Played two days on the trot and although the quality of the golf was questionable it was certainly a treat to have dry feet at the end.
Fair course, with some TLC could be neatened up, dog walkers make for numerous hazards in addition to the many unraked bunkers. Some long par 4s and all a bit head-on but I like this course and for £15 right now it’s worth the hour drive.
Great for time of the year
First time at the course and was very impressed how it played considering recent weather most of our local courses aren't even open. Will definitely be back
Value for money
With our home course closed due to recent heavy rain we looked for a course open to get a round of golf.
A very warm & friendly welcome in the Pro Shop. A cup of coffee in the clubhouse then onto the course.
Surprisingly, after recent heavy rain, the course was dry & played well. The course is quite forgiving with wide fairways.
We got around the course easily with no hold ups or slow play.
The only downside was when we went in the clubhouse after golf the coffee machine had been turned off & there was no fresh milk to make an instant coffee. A small hiccup which did not spoil our enjoyable experience,
We found Kilton Forest good value for money
Terrible
No starter ensuring space between groups. Pace of play was terrible. Waiting 10 mins on every hole. Shambolic. Left after 13 holes which had taken nearly 4 hours.
