Great value, great course
Having played the course many times as a youngster the course has been redesigned in some areas but all for the better and now the trees and course have matured it makes for a challenging first few holes and an attacking course to play on the back nine. Greens were lightning fast pleasure to putt on albeit a little unreceptive, however that is forgiven for the condition of the rest of the course.
Enjoyed
Excellent conditions from tes to greens throughly enjoyed my round of golf at Laceby Manor Golf course.
Enjoyed
Absolutely 1st class usually a bit expensive but on the day it was good value for money, the course was in excellent condition, no winter tee's no winter greens and no boggy ground, full credit to all ground staff, well done
ALL 18 GREENS WAS CLOSED
Absolutely awful round of golf.
Wasn't told when booking or even on arrival that all all 18 greens was closed and we would have to use temporary greens.
Temporary green was basically a white circle painted on the fairway which was shambolic.
Loud heavy machinery hovering around waiting for us to take shots which was very off-putting.
1st impressions is not very good.
Even club members was walking off after 9 holes because the temporary greens was shambolic.
Strangers hiding in the bushes on hole 17 - I asked what he was doing and got no response - he was not staying in the lodges he looked like a right weirdo - good job we was male golfers if it was females then they would have been very weary.
Honestly probably the worst round of golf we have had in a very very long time.
Great round
Furst time we had all played here.
We all really enjoyed our round. Course was superb and we were lucky with the weather.
Club shop and all staff were frendly and welcoming.
Will definitely be returning.
Pleasant
Considering the dry arid conditions th course was in very good condition and the greens were very good indeed
Got Tougher
I was a member here 20 odd years ago & was pleasantly surprised with the changes at this lovely course.
It was a lot tougher for sure , back in the early years we could fly most of the trouble, not anymore.
The layout had changed for the better in my opinion although one hole has always let it down for me & that’s the now 17 th, which is surrounded by huge dense fir trees which I feel are not in keeping with the rest of this lovely course.
The greens were in poor condition, being very patch due to some kind of fungi but I hear they also had criminal damage done to them . I’m sure they’re a different surface in the summer.
The staff are all very friendly in both pro shop & restaurant. The bar area lovely & cosy too & the food very good & reasonably priced.
I certainly recommend this course.
Ended +10 & on my handicap so happy with that.
Beware bunkers
Pro said back 9 bunkers were gur as work on them being carried out this winter. Fair enough but what about the front 9 ones shocking condition about 1/2 inch of sand in them all
Laceby
At this time of year course maintenance is the normal but a member told us only greenside bunkers were in play all others GUR. greens OK and value for money at 15 quid
Nice course with some interesting holes
The course is in great condition apart from the fairway bunkers which are truly appalling but not marked as gur. They are either full of grass, huge lumps of which looks like sand and cement, plastic bags etc. Green side bunkers are fine though. Pro shop was not manned when we arrived so could have gone out without paying! Lot of hackers out there who would not let us through so missed out a hole to get round them. Nice coffee afterwards.
Laceby
Course in excellent condition great value and would recommend playing not to busy
Nice flat golf course
My wife and I were on holiday in the area and played Laceby Manor Golf Club on the spur of the moment, we were not disappointed. It’s a relatively flat course with some well hidden hazards which caught us out at times. The greens were in good order and proved tricky on the odd occasions. Despite COVID, the course was well maintained and the only slight downside was that we couldn’t get anything to eat before we went out. Would definitely play here again.
Well kept enjoyable course
Had a good day here for the first time playing it. Good layout and kept to a high standard. No special hole to remember and was a bit more expensive then most I’ve recently played but would definitely play again and enjoy more in summer time.
