Good condition for golf in November
No temps greens or tees in November is always a good thing. I know this course holds a lot of water when it rains so I was reasonably pleased that we got a proper 18 holes in. Fairways were covered in sand and grit but outside of that the course was looking better than expected. The clubhouse renovation has improved the social side of the club, good bar, food etc. The only real issue was pace of play. Numerous 4 balls that don’t let 2 balls play through even when that said 4 ball takes 5-10 just to tee off.
Good course, not sure worth the money.
Extremely friendly environment and good course with good pace of play.
They have obviously propagated the fairways which left some holes in the fairway. Hard to define where the rough stared and fairways finished. (Didn’t both me as I usually find the rough off the tee anyway) Rough was forgiving and not too deep.
The course would probably be best played in the spring, as there were loads of acorns and small twigs off the oak trees.
Overall enjoyed the course, and the staff were really friendly. Would recommend it, but definitely not worth the money I paid (£60). There are better condition courses for this price. In Spring I think it would be worth the money.
I would play again.
Bad condition.
Really poor condition. Never worth the increased price, even with the hot deal. I’ll not play this course again.
Not worth anywhere near £35
Having played many courses around Sussex and Surrey over the summer, the value for money for a round here is really poor. The first fairway is treacherous to say the least! The greens were in terrible condition and covered in sand. Most of the tee boxes were also poorly kept. There were only two or three fairways on the course were we felt that we were on a reasonable golf course.
There are plenty of other courses in the area with lower/similarly priced green fees that are in 100 times better condition than what this golf course is.
On a positive note, the clubhouse is brilliant and the staff were very friendly.
Lots of work
The course seems to be going under numerous changes from clubhouse to driving range and bar but not on course.
Did not enjoy the course being so hard that you could not land a ball easily, around the green it seem difficult to clip the ball and bunkers where very short of sand.
Tough Windy Day
Played the white tees in 25mph wind. Found it really testing, seemed like every other shot played like 200 yards.
Good greens , fairways being treated and seeded, lot of dirt showing through.
Drainage works ongoing. Should be great in few months. Good to see planned works.
Course condition 💩
Playing in the winter isn’t great at the best of time but I have played all winter and these are the worst fairways so far. If was £20 a round wouldn’t be as bad but for £40 I expected better.
Lovely in the Summer, and quality upgrades
I'd only played Leatherhead once before - in March. Most of the course was sodden so we only got to play 11 holes.
This was my first time playing since. The course was in great shape and you can see the work they've put in to try and improve conditions during the cooler, wetter months.
We completed our round at exactly the recommend pace.
Some really nice holes - dog legs, well placed bunkers and rough to make you think your way around.
Although it was shut for upgrades, the range looked excellent. The want up areas are good.
And the clubhouse and food at the end was great (tasty and well priced)
Really poor
No communication or signs on website/GN to say no trolleys, turned up and had to carry my heavy trolley bag around the whole 18, then saw 2 older lads using trolleys. There is path the whole way around there course and so much rough, no fairway at all, greens were woeful! Not the nicest staff in the world to be honest. Looks like as you drive in though
Pouring with rain and still on
Course was sodden, greens flossed but they said course was open. Waste of time money and effort. Think before you play here
Poor condition after heavy rain, slightly overpriced.
Weather conditions weren't good and to be fair we were warned that they nearly closed it for the day. Friendly pro shop. Course wasn't well kept and some greens were having significant work done that made them barely playable. I imagine its a very good course in season but for the condition of course when we played, it was overpriced.
Decent Spot
Course was good, great condition and greens were tougher than i thought. Perfect day out all in all.
Not a happy day
They sprayed green dyes on all the greens, and the dyes stained on my gloves, shirt and of course the towel and is not washable. Many holes in back nine play only 300 yards off yellow tee and the layout are pretty much the same. And lastly I lost a club during my round and no body return it to the proshop , it still upset me.
