2hours and 10 mins to play 9 holes…
…no one lets you play through unless you ask. 4 balls just ignore you on the tee even though you are a single player. Course in great condition but almost 5 hours for a round of golf…I don’t think so!
Course condition
Tee boxes poorly maintained.
Greens well kept
Fairway condition average.
Great value for money
When you pay £20 on a Sunday, it’s a great little course. The greens are in great nick and a nice variety of holes (mainly straight). The tee boxes are a little bit messy but overall the course is priced about right. Welcoming club with a great atmosphere
Been a while
Not played here for several years but a golf mate was looking for something new from our usual courses So when I saw Lindfield come up on GolfNow for a great price I said why not. Glad we did the course was in great condition and some challenging holes made it a tight affair, we will be back !!
Nice course
Generally a nice course however tee boxes in poor condition partly due lack of water and not helped by tee markers not being moved around resulting in very well worn areas. Greens need a little TLC with again a lack of watering in these dry conditions.. staff very friendly and helpful.
Will Never Return
Worst course I have ever played. essentially a field with shorter grass for greens. Tee boxes in horrendous condition as were the bunkers. This place is not taken care of and to charge £25 is frankly criminal.
Soggy conditions
Having played in the summer i thought i would try again. The lower lying parts of the course were almost unplayable and around the tees, and even on the tees, and greens were boggy , muddy and very slippery. moving off the fairway on most holes wasnt pleasant. i gave up after 9 holes. feet were wet. trousers muddy and every shot plugged whether on fairway, rough or green. If i return it will only be after a period of dry weather
Don't play here
We arrived and couldn't wait to leave, we couldn't use the putting greens to warm up as the school had taken them over.
The fairways and greens were not maintained at all, apart from a guy running along the fairway with a leaf blower when we were teeing off.
The best thing about this course was leaving!
Pleasant course spoilt by slow players
We finished after 10 holes as the pace of play was extremely slow for a short course. We had to wait on every hole and despite not teeing off until the green was clear on some of the par 4 holes we still had to wait on the next tee. At times we saw 3 groups on 2 of the par 5s. Some of the finishing holes were empty suggesting that a few inconsiderate players were causing the logjam and spoiling the round for others.
good round of golf
Tight fairways which can be challenging, enjoyable and we had good weather
18 holes at Lindfield GC
Course in good condition particularly the front 9 holes, shame that on the back 9 grass cuttings were left strewn about
Todays round
Booked via tee times, picked 1.04 pm ,as after usual club society players Saturday rounds, no other bookings after us ,which proved great as no one behind us all round enabling us to play freely and take our time.
Made use of driving range, chipping area and putting green pre round as not played for months, giving me best round of golf for over a year as I'd blown away a few cobwebs and not just gone for it and then played poorly.
Greens were in fairly good condition, some tee areas heavily used but ok.
Had played course before but still found difficult to find some tee boxes as some direction markers missing ( think walking from 6th green to 7th tee past others,4th and 16th) etc, so difficult for 1st time course player.
Overall staff very friendly and helpful, good facilities and good covid segregation outside bar area,so could enjoy a well deserved pint.
Will definitely use course again.
