Nice course
Nice course, great scenery and great value for money only problem was when we went it was very muddy and wet other then that was a great course
Interesting course ! Some nice holes, plays as an 18 hole but the back 9 holes are very short par 4s and 3s. No one there to welcome you on arrival and no club house. Green keeps very friendly. Greens are very slow !
Can’t complain at the price but wouldn’t rush back.
6/10
Rubbish communication
Beautiful course just no response from any phone calls or messages, we needed buggies which was advertised but not a soul in sight to tell us or show us where to go. Course in lovely condition though very picturesque just let down by no communication!
Lovely course
A really enjoyable course to play don't let the 9 holes put you off as the change in tee positions on the 2nd 9 make it as though you are playing 18. Staff were very accommodating
Great little course
This is a great little course. It has only 9 greens but the sue if separated tee's enable you to play 18 unique (ish) holes.
The only hole that isn't significantly changed is the par 3 2nd/11th. However this hole is one of several standout holes on the course that make it great.
They have made great use of the land and its contours to provide som challenging holes and some teasing potentially drivable par 4s.
The course also have some lovely views as it plays alongside the river Fowey.
They have taken care of nature here too with some proteted habitats turned into features that come with free drops that can sometimes help you out of trouble.
At just £20 for 18 holes its a bargain!
I would definitely play again and recommend it too all standards.
(It only lost a star for the lack of club house which is awaiting planning permission).
Got to play it
Great 9 holes course got to play it man in van was great to talk to
Didn't realise this was a 9 hole course
Didn't realise this was a 9 hole course, dissapointed when playing 18 to go round twice even though tees were slightly moved for the second 9. The course itself is a good course, just not enough holes. No food available to buy and the only drink available was water, no card machine so cash only. Lovely 9 hole course but wouldn't play again
Work to be done
I was looking forward to seeing what changes had been made to the course as I was a member at Lostwithiel Golf Club for a few years before it closed down about 10 years ago.Much of the old course layout is the same with a few holes no longer in play.
I dont see many players coming back to play this course in its current state. Whilst I understand the concept behind the ecology angle to Gilliflower Golf Club it doesn't work from a golfers perspective playing the course on a regular basis. In particular, I am referring to the long rough on most holes adjoining the fairways and especially on hole 2 and/or 11. In my opinion this needs to be changed for the benefit of the golfers and also to speed up the pace of play. On the day we played the course it was quiet, but if the course was busy I could easily see a round taking up to 5 hours which is neither enjoyable or sustainable from a business perspective.
Personally I enjoyed playing the course, but would not come back again in a hurry for the reasons outlined above. I was hoping to recommend this course to my home club members fir a society away day but in its current condition the cost is not realistic as it would cost players more in lost balls than the green fees being charged.
I would be happy to provide more detailed feedback if anyone felt it would be beneficial.
Incredible course - must play
Considering it’s brand new the course is top notch. Beautiful views, tricky holes and some lovely greens. Found myself pausing at some tees to look at the scenery. Will definitely play again and would highly recommend to give it a go and test what you’re skills are like. Recently played the belfry brabazon and would say this was in much better condition
Nice fun game
A beautiful fairly short course great for a fun round with a lake, ponds and a river running through it. Very scenic
