Not bad for $15
Decent little 9 hole course. Very small greens. Greens had been sanded and hard to get balls to stick on approach.
Cow pasture quality.
No idea how this place got rated that high. Fairways had weeds and little grass. The greens (good shape) are small. No comparison to Colivista, Blue Bonnet Hill, Highland Lakes and Lago Vista.
This course is fun and satisfies your wanting to play in a short amount of time.
We played early in the morning. We followed the grounds crew around the first 6 holes changing the pin placements and sweeping the greens. Also, the greens had been over-seeded which the attendant told us when we paid. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the course. The attendant was friendly and helpful. The course had some fun holes and some challenges. Play was quick and easy.
Forgiving but Fun
This course is very forgiving to the average weekend hacker but still challenging enough to be fun. The people at the course are good ol country folk for the most part so no douchey people. All and all, a great time!
Nice small greens Blake this short course challenging
The course is in ok shape, the Texas summer and drought has it quite brown though. The greens are in good shape but everything else is in rough condition. The problem with this course comes with how they book there tee times. It's a nine hole course and so you have a short line of people teeing off when you make the turn to start playing the equivalent of the back 9, which can be quite frustrating. For the money I would rather save myself the drive and play somewhere where I can either take my time and not have people on my heels or pass some of the slower foursomes that are out on the course.
Fun Course and Challenging
This course definitely has challenges as a 9 hole. Growing up my grandparents lived in Taylor, but I did not come from a family of golfers and did not know Taylor had a golf course until I started playing recently. It is a neatly kept course with a laid back small town feeling. The players and atmosphere is not stuffy and the staff and other players are friendly. Wish it would rain there to help them out with the greens and water ponds.
goat pasture
The course is in poor shape. we lost several balls in the overgrown fairways. The fairways are in pitiful shape, and the course is poorly marked. We will definitely not play there again
Great value course
The course was in pretty good condition from the recent rains. This was my first time there. They only have 9 holes but the scorecard has 18 (play from whites one 9, then blues the back 9) to make it easy to play a "full" round. The 9th hole even has 2 greens to give you a more challenging green for 1 or both sets of 9. Greens are tiny! Because of that it's pretty challenging to be putting for birdies. My main frustration was that I hit a few balls that were just off the fairway and could not find them due to some areas of really high grass. The main reason I went here was to take my wife who is just learning how to play, and I didn't want to get rushed on a busy course. We played on a Thursday morning and there were 5-6 other groups on the course so we generally played without anyone behind us. I'll be back simply because it's so cheap, and provides a close place to play for me. Check out the great BBQ at the Davis Grocery and BBQ store nearby as well!
Good course, friendly people, great value
It isn't the country club, but it isn't $50 to play 18 on the weekend, either. It is a small, quaint, 9 hole course. The folks working there are super nice and you just can't beat the value for the price. I will play there again and will definitely recommend to my bargain hunting friends.
Challenging
Course is a good challenging layout. Sad they can't get the needed rain to keep fairways lush. I will challenge it again
Nice small course.
Short nine hole course with small greens. Course was in good shape.
Freindly, challenging but not punishing.
Wife and I got a great deal for 18 holes off Golf Now. Very freindly staff, and low key play, lots of Par 4's, wide enough fair way to not punish a beginner but still challenging. I will be coming back to improve my score. The greens were pretty good and the fairways were well kept. Not far from Austin if you take 130 toll to 79. We had a great time.
Well kept secret
I hope this course doesn't become too commercial. It' s afine 1 hour drive for me from Cedar Park, but worht the trip - my second time here to this course. if you like trees, find another place to play. We love it here. Can't wait to go back.
this is a great fun lil course to play .
fun lil course to play and the discounted tee time was great !! I have used golfnow several times and i am telling all my friends about it and i plan on continuing to use golfnow for all my future golf tee times....
Great Value
Had a great time. Wonderful, friendly staff. Look forward to my return trip out to Mustang Creek.
We had driven by this course many times in our travels east of Austin.
We were so glad we booked this great little course. It was in good shape considering the drought that they have been experiencing. The greens are small but very playable. We were greeted warmly by the staff and they were extremely helpful with sharing some of the things you need to know to play the course. It was great to meet a lot of area players.
I will play there again if the opportunity is available.
